Dangerous device
CURTIS Posted
I bought this about five months ago and was excited about its diversity in uses as not only a charger, but a quick ability for me to plug into a tv through HDMI while traveling for work. It’s also compact so I can store it in the little pouch in my case and charge when flying. Shortly after a couple uses I started having issues with it falling completely out of power sockets once it gets a little warm. I’ve completely given up using it in the airplane sockets. Even if I am able to hold the charger in the socket with my leg or a bag, if it is not a perfect flush fit it won’t charge at all. After all of that, my favorite part is the sparks it throws from the prongs. You've got to make sure the fit into the socket is perfect and it doesn't move at all because if you don't get it right it will spark wildly throwing them up to 6” from the device. Which is the other reason I opted not to use this on a plane full of people at 5 miles high…… If you have already purchased this device I would not recommend leaving it plugged in unattended as it may start a fire. In the end this product offered everything I wanted and would have been perfect if not for the flaw in its rotating prongs.

Charges fine

Charges just fine, I can't get it to do video out with the original ROG Ally Z1 Extreme. You can get 100w charges a whole lot cheaper than this thing. If the video out worked, or you have a new ROG Ally, this maybe the move for you to make.

Does not play well with all other devices
Baldwin363 Posted
Dont buy if you intend to charge other devices. It works as advertised with the ROG Ally devices with 100w charging and all. It does not play well with other devices when the initials "handshake" occurs between them. It charges all other devices at thier lowest voltage. When trying to charge my anker battery bank, it wouldnt get above 12w when it supports inputs up to 100w. I tried updating to the newest firmware and found it didnt resolve a single issue. I only used the charging cable that with it. Super overpriced for only working as intended on a single product. Dont wait like me to return it thinking ASUS might fix it.

Use for my Rog ally & a 3rd party one with Ethernet is way better for a 3rd of the price, this thing constantly flickers through the hdmi output makes it hard to really enjoy anything without getting frustrated & I actually really like my rog ally thought a product from the same company would fulfill my needs in a better way sadly I was mistaken

Dear Randy,
Thank you for your comment.
We certainly understand your disappointment with the charger and the inconvenience this may have caused if it sparks when plugged-in to a power outlet or AC source. ASUS is an ISO certified company, and as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free. The spark on the charger is a random problem, ensure the device is plugged-in to a working and properly grounded power source. If the charger is faulty, we recommend to contact your vendor for a replacement. If it is out of the replacement period, send the product in for service to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately. An RMA number is required to send it in for service. For RMA details, please go to: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/818/.

Don't really have anything negative to say about this. It's got a premium heavy feel to it. Comes with a USB C cable as well. I'd recommend this if you want a quick charger for your Xbox ROG Ally X and use the 65W adapter it comes with as a travel charger. I checked for updates in Armory crate while it was plugged in and didn't see anything. It does fast charge compared to the 65W.

Dear Chris,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand your concern about the charger dock getting crazy hot touch. The ASUS ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock gets hot because it is a compact, high-power device (100W) transforming significant energy while simultaneously supporting heavy, concurrent loads like high-performance gaming or simultaneous battery charging. The casing acts as a heat sink, designed to pull heat away from internal components, making it feel hot to the touch, which is typical for 100W+ chargers.

Returned due to overheating issues
xxWARSPITExx Posted
The product would heat up to the point it was not safe to touch and would stop charging the ROG Xbox Ally X at about 65%. After 30-60 minutes of cooling it might start charging again. I have replaced it with a 100W Anker Charger and had no issues with charging while gaming on full power.
