A: This range extender supports WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and offers speeds up to 3000 Mbps.
Q: How many devices can this range extender support?
A: This range extender can support up to 8 devices in a mesh network.
Q: Can I create a mesh network with this device?
A: Yes, you can create a mesh network using this range extender with other AiMesh-compatible routers.
Q: What are the differences in the RP-AX56 and RP-AX58
A: RP-AX56 and RP-AX58 only differ in the fact that the AX58 has double the channels for 5GHz giving it more bandwidth throughput vs the AX56, other than that it is essentially the same AIMesh node.
A: So according to the quick start guide, it clearly says it is a LAN port for your PC. I am guessing the problem you might have is that if it is connected to your router in an AIMesh node setup, it might be attempting to utilize ethernet backhaul (how it communicates back to the router). You can go into your Asus interface under AIMesh, system settings and ensure that Ethernet Backhaul is turned off. If so, the AIMesh node *shouldn't* be trying to attempt to use this as a communication method to the router, and see this as an additional LAN port. The caveat is that the AIMesh node is communicating back to the router via wireless, which really won't give the LAN port a speed advantage as if it was connected via ethernet directly to the router.
Q: Does this work with Frontier fiber router?
A: undefined

I have an Asus router with WiFi 7, and thought I'd grab this since it was relatively inexpensive and can expand my coverage. Unfortunately, my router is in the basement, and everything on the main level is great, but it's the top floor that becomes an issue for me. Installing this was super easy, no issues what so ever!!!! It was almost too easy, and it 100% increased my coverage, so much so I was sold on it! I went from 1 to 5 Mbps, to over 200 Mbps upstairs. And devices that connected to it on the main level anywhere from 600 to 800 Mbps. The problem was gaming, upstairs would cause packet burst, random lag, and stuff like that. I couldn't figure out why this kept happening and then I found out, it's dropping packets every so often. It's fine for movies, browsing, and stuff like that, but VOIP calls, and things that require real time synchronous data, it's not good. I gave it 3 stars because I mainly wanted this for gaming, which it failed at, but it did improve my connection, was easy to set up and the price was not bad.

I was having some trouble with my WiFi calls and some lagging on my network powered by an Asus RT-AX82U. Range was also becoming an issue everytime I closed my front door and I live in just a simple 2 story townhome, 1700 sq ft. I purchased this range extender after some research and it matches same brand as my router. Setup was a bit of a pain, it would find RP-AX58, start connecting and Failed message. I literally hit Try Again, I saw it kept connecting faster to it each try so anyway, on the 4th try it worked and the other 3 remaining steps went fine. It matched the settings as my Asus router and the range now extends past my front door well into driveway and full bars in garage full of metal obstacles. Once a device is handed over to the RP-AX58, speeds are halved but range is extended as a result but I have 500 Mbps and videos on the extended range are just as smooth as you don't need that much to stream a YouTube video or music. Small note, I found there was an update on my router I didn't notice because I have auto-update turned off and that seemed to quell my lagging/latency WiFi issues. So with both of those new results combined, Wifi is much faster, smoother and further reaching.

This ASUS AiMesh Repeater was exactly what I needed to solve my connection issues! My ASUS router is on the main floor of my home, but my office is in the basement, where the signal would often fluctuate throughout the day. It got so bad that my Teams meetings would frequently drop. After researching options, I decided to try this repeater, and it worked perfectly! Setup was straightforward and hassle-free. If you need guidance, ASUS provides a helpful guide at asus.com/us/support/faq/1049739/. Highly recommend it for anyone struggling with weak or inconsistent Wi-Fi signals!
