Upgraded from a 4070 Ti Super Expert, and the ASUS TUF 5080 is a noticeable but sensible step up rather than a massive leap. Performance gains show most in newer, more demanding games, especially at higher resolutions and with ray tracing on. If you’re already on a high-end 40-series card, expectations should be realistic. Build quality and cooling are the highlights here. The TUF card is very solid, runs cool, and stays fairly quiet under load. Stability has been excellent so far with no crashes or odd behavior. That said, this card is very bulky. In tighter cases like the HYTE Y60, it can get choked for airflow when mounted traditionally. A vertical mount is basically required in that setup to let the card breathe properly, so definitely plan for that before buying. Overall, it’s a dependable, well-built GPU that makes sense if you want more headroom for ultrawide or 4K gaming just make sure your case can handle the size and airflow needs.

absolute monster of a car in performance and size, stays super cool during gaming. Is a big upgrade for me (coming from a 2080Ti) Handles 4k just find and is super quite. Also quite a bit of head room for overclocking about a 8-10% increase in performance with a quick and dirty overclock this card has a lot left in it and will last for a very long time!! Not to much rgb just the way I like it has a great look to it

The ASUS TUF 5080 is a great overall partner card for the 5080 series. With my unit, I was fortunate enough to not experience any coil wine, which is a known problem for the TUF series. But, even with these benefits that asking price of being 50 over MSRP of what the 5080 is advertised to retail for makes it hard to recommend to most. The build quality is excellent. The front and backplate of the card are made of aluminum, while the edges use "TUF" plastic. See what I did there? Sorry, lol. But I expected to see a lot more RGB for this price. The only thing that is illuminated is the TUF logo on top of the card. The card is pretty big, it mounts in 2 slots, but the width easily extends over 3. I don't personally have a problem with it as I use a big case, but make sure you double check the dimensions of any SFF cases along side the dimensions of this card. The card's temperatures are great. It efficiently cools the 5080 silicon. The highest I've seen it go is 65 °C under maximum stress conditions, such as using MSI Kombustor or Time Spy benchmarking. This is with a percentage per Celsius fan curve, so I have never seen it go over 65 percent fan speed as well. It doesn't usually get near this in normal game settings. Keep in mind, this is with overclocking the core clock boost up to 400 MHz and 2000+ for the memory. Which I also have to admit is great headroom. I saw increases in FPS of about 10 percent on average, with 15 percent being the highest from stock. This gets it near or even the same performance of a 4090. Just with much less VRAM. Everything about the card is great. The build quality, the performance, the cooling, the overclocking headroom, but... this can also be obtained with many cheaper partner cards, or even the base FE that goes for $500 cheaper. If this card were priced more reasonable over the MSRP, let's say maybe 25 to 30 percent, which is still high in my opinion, I think overall this card would be a good recommendation. But I just can't justify it to be $500 over the base price of a FE. I understand these cards are extremely high in-demand as of writing this, but the performance difference and overclocking headroom should be identical between these cards. You would be losing $500 for no good reason besides aesthetics. The original MSRP for this card was $1350, the max price I would consider reasonable, but uplifting another 10 percent to become $1485 is unacceptable. I understand a lot of this is caused by the recent imposed tariffs in the US, but ASUS is still making a decent profit as this card still costs the company a lot less than they are selling it for. The company could afford to keep the price stable while still maintaining a profit even after having to deal with the added import cost. But, instead they increased 10 percent to maintain profit margins. On a card that was already overpriced for what it was. While taking advantage of the artificial demand created by Nvidia for this series of cards. I come from a GTX 1080, the performance increase is huge, around 3 to 4 times more. But even with this, it's still hard to justify this pricing. You could buy a PS5, or an Xbox Series X, or a couple of Series S's, or even almost buy an RTX 5070 if you go with the FE instead of this card. You would lose out on all of this, for what, the SAME performance? Very unethical and predatory from not only Nvidia, but from ASUS. Just like any other 5080, it also includes Nvidia's new AI tech like DLSS 4 and MFG. It's great software, but I believe MFG should not have to carry what this series of cards lacks in raster increase from the previous generation. My bottom line, if you can find a cheaper partner card, or even the FE of the 5080, I would recommend getting that over this card. The 50 percent increase of MSRP is not justified whatsoever, and it's a shame because this is genuinely a good product, but not to the point where it can charge like this. I will be returning this if I can find a FE or cheaper variant of the 5080 series, even for a good of a card as it is.

After five years of faithful service, I have finally retired my RTX 2080 Super. While that card has been amazingly reliable, if not amazingly performant compared to its predecessors, the 1080 being the absolute Beast that it was. It gave me much joy and let me push my games to the limit for a while as it replaced my old GTX960. Now, we're set for possibly another five years. The RTX5080 is a powerhouse, while its performance gains may not have been all that amazing compared to the 4080 super, generational leaps are not aways a guaranty. But, coming from the 2080 Super, it's nice to be able to just hit Ultra in the settings menu again. My biggest complaints are size and RAM capacity. In 2025 the 80 tier cards should have come standard with 24GB, especially with the 5090 coming set with 32GB. Games are relying far too much on brute force these days to do things we used to have cool tricks to accomplish, so it would be nice to have that extra wiggle room. I personally don't really care for all the DLSS AI upscaling nonsense, and Cannot stand the Frame Generation push, I think it's cool that we have advanced technology that can do it, that said however, I think some studios are relying on that technology as a crutch to 'solve' performance issues. None of that really is Asus' fault here, however. It's been close to a week that I've had to play with this, and it's ran great the whole time. When I unboxed this monster, I was having second thoughts about whether it would fit in my case. It absolutely dwarfs my previous card.

Picked it up for $1,199.99! Amazing value at that price. The card is extremely powerful, runs cool and quiet, and the build quality feels very solid. I’m using it with a mini PC via an NVMe-to-OCuLink adapter (PCIe 3.0) and it works perfectly stable. Even with the PCIe limitation, performance is still excellent. It’s a big card, but if it fits your setup, I definitely recommend it.
