A: No it is not
Q: how many RAM modules does it have? one 8gb or two 4gb?
A: One 8 GB soldered to the motherboard board. Open slot that can support up to 32gb simm for 40 gb of memory.
A: I purchased the computer new I took the back off remove the 256 gigabyte drive and then with Acronis true image software I made an image of the drive to a 4 TB ssd and put the 4 TB drive back in the computer. Turned it on and it booted up into S mode. I logged into the Microsoft store and switched it out of S mode to Windows home mode. The switch is free. if I want to switch back to S mode, I can always put the original 256 GB drive back in and start fresh again. I don’t recommend s mode. It will not run most applications. Acronis true image software is key to duplicating these drives with the window security and licensing on it.
A: I find that when you go from one to another, you have to translate/figure out where different things are, i.e., how to access them and what the equivalents are (for example, "Finder" on a Mac is "File Explorer" on a PC). How well you can do this or how bothersome it may be is an individual case by case situation, so there is no way to really predict your experience. Your best bet would be to borrow a PC from a friend and see if you can adapt fast enough for it not to be a problem.

A: No backlit keyboard
A: It's not 2K resolution, it's FHD resolution.
Q: Do I need anti-virus for these product
A: "Need" is a subjective term. Do you "need" a Rolls Royce, or will you settle for a Mercedes. Both get you where you going, but one may be overkill. I can tell you that I've used anti-malware software most of my computer ownership, and rarely had a problem, but I've also used nothing for several years (don't recommend that), or MS Defender, which comes included, for a year, and also rarely had a problem. Really it depends on what websites you go to, and whether you are stupid enough to click on links from unsolicited or fake emails that are nothing more than virus delivery systems.
Q: Can you install Microsoft Office on this laptop?
A: You can install any of the many versions of MS Office on any MS computer. How you use it may be problematic, since you are limited in storage and RAM, so you have to consider other programs you may install/run, and how many at a time you will open.

ASUS Vivobook was too good of a deal to pass up
This ASUS Vivobook was an amazing find and excellent value during the sale. The screen is awesome. It is very bright with great colors. The anti-glare screen is very effective. The keyboard feels great. The laptop is very sturdy and has no noticeable flex on the frame or screen. The anti-microbial treatment is a nice bonus. No touch screen but the track pad works very well and doubles as number keys if needed. The computer is very fast and loads the apps and web pages lightning fast. I use an 8th generation i7 laptop along with this unit and I notice the 13th generation i3 is just quicker and has no lag while loading images and videos. If you find this on sale, buy it. Don't hesitate. The only thing I would improve is the wattage output of the speakers. They are fine and clear. I use an external BT speaker to make up for it.
