Works as advertised. I got it to play music CDs for a new laptop without a CD player, but I also burned a system startup disc with it. I do notice the noise of the drive from time to time, but not often. One thing: it recommends using two USB ports to power it (and a dual USB plug is included), but the instructions recommend NOT using a USB hub. Fortunately, I had the ports to spare and it all worked out for me.

This has quick processing speed, is lightweight and portable, and works well. I bought this to burn images to discs and have not had any trouble so far.

The 1st external drive I got was not getting recognized by my ZenBook Flip Model UX461UNDS74- i7 - 16GB Mem - NVIDIA GeForce MX150 - 512GB SSD - Windows 10. I returned the drive the next day for a refund. I decided to give Asus Drive another chance, 2nd time is a charm. Drive work, was plug and play as described, no issue. I would highly recommend this portable drive, its light, and its a great add on to your toys when it's working properly. I believe the 1st one I got was defective. I hope Asus would be stringent in their Quality Control.

With internal DVD drives being almost extinct for laptops, this drive is a good option. It's easy to install, thin and light for taking along away from home. I haven't burned a disc yet but I've played Audio CD, CD-ROM and various DVD types of discs. I have used it with 3 or 4 different media players with good results. It does require plugging in to 2 USB ports, but that has not been an issue for me.

This works on my Windows Desktop, Windows Laptop and my MacBook Pro. I've burned M-Disc's, regular DVD's and watched DVD's with it. It does not come with software to view DVD movies but it does with with other supplemental software and a 6 month code for Asus Web Storage services.

Very easy to use and required as most laptops are moving away from drives,,, I hated to give up my DVD tray, but moved into the future! This is very slim and easy to stack with the external back up!

Of course most new laptops and desktops are without cd drives. This is a great filler, relatively inexpensive and does the job! Cables are included with it

Bought this to burn lossless files onto laptop. Plug and play setup was easy. Size is very portable. Decent speed. Powered by the laptop.

This is a nice compact drive, feels well built. Very easy to use, just plug it into the USB port and you are up and running.

Does a decent job for an inexpensive unit. Has two USB connectors to supply power but seems to work fine with just one (probably depends on the power coming from the computer it is connect to, in my case a MacBook Air or iMac). Plays CDs which is all I need it to do!

It’s fast , works great , worth the price but I don’t like the cable that came with it . I know it’s petty but I bought a new cable . The cable that it comes with works fine I just don’t like the triple cable style . That being said the cable is only preference and nothing more

Even though most computer manufacturers have done away with the integral DVD/CD drive, there is still a time and place to have that capability. This product serves that function well.

Easy install, works great, very happy with purchase

This drive was very easy to setup and use. I needed to get some pictures off a disk from my vacation and ordered this drive to do so. It definitely held up to my expectations, would highly recommend.

This has done its job! No fancy bells and whistles, but serves its purpose. It has been a great thing to have on hand since a lot of computers now don’t have a disc drive. It’s simple to use; you just plug it in!

Bought this cause the laptop I bought didn't have a built in drive and I like to burn CD's once in awhile. So far only used it to install my printer drives and set up disks. It worked well but I'm still getting to know the full use for this thing.

This external drive is the perfect companion to my Asus Vivo laptop computer. Especially since manufacturers are no longer including any type of DVD/CD drives in the body of laptops these days.

It plays and but discs well. I have had no problems with it. It does make some noise during playback so it sometimes is difficult to hear music or sounds from a film. Otherwise, it is a good disc drive.

Purchased this to use with our new all in one PC. Used it to install software we had previously purchased. Easy to install and did what it was intended to do.

Great brand, great product. This is a must have for laptops today. I use for instant burning putting VHS on DVD. If you dont have one get one.
