About this product
Atomic Shop is the studio-only project of Chicago singer-songwriter John Kuczaj. Kuczaj is the writer of all the original Atomic Shop songs as well as lead vocalist and rhythm guitar player. Producer Steve Dawson (InchDolly VardenInch) also plays guitar, bass, keyboards and drums on most tracks. Guest performers on some songs include Dan Fulkerson (InchUnibrowInch) on Lead Guitar and Scott Besaw on Drums. Atomic Shop is known for cross-genre melodic songs that are heavily lyric-oriented, are very catchy and contain more hooks than an Atlantic Ocean dragnet. Most songs use tongue-in-cheek humor or biting sarcasm to deliver salient points, while others deliver thought-provoking messages with a melancholy or serious tone. InchRide My JunkInch is the 2011 follow-up to Atomic Shop's self-titled debut album.

Atomic, the new album by Scottish experimental rock legends Mogwai, is composed of reworked versions of the music recorded for the soundtrack to director Mark Cousins' acclaimed documentary Atomic Living In Dread and Promise, which first aired on BBC Four last summer. Constructed entirely of archive film, Atomic is an impressionistic kaleidoscope of the horrors of our nuclear times - protest marches, Cold War sabre-rattling, Chernobyl and Fukishima - but also the sublime beauty of the atomic world, and how x-rays and MRI scans have improved human lives. Mogwai's soundtrack encapsulates the nightmare of the nuclear age, but it's dreamlike qualities too. It is the latest in the band's series of impressive soundtracks and scores, following acclaimed albums Les Revenants (The Returned) and Zidane A 21st Century Portrait.
