DragonFly Red is a USB DAC (digital-to-analog converter), preamplifier, and headphone amplifier. It bypasses the audio circuitry in laptops, computers, and smartphones to deliver cleaner, clearer, more naturally beautiful music to headphones, powered speakers, or complete audio systems.
Q: Can i use this with my Samsung galaxy s10 in my car with the aux cable?
A: Yes, but it does not worth the money to set it up that way. The Dragonfly is designed to work as a DAC and headphone amp. To complete your setup, you will need to buy another Audioquest Dragontail USB A to C Adapter to connect the Dragonfly to your Galaxy S10. Then use a aux cable to connect the Dragonfly to your car aux. However, as being said, this will be a totally waste of money for car audio since car audio quality is heavily impacted by road noise. The sound improvement will be extremely marginal. You rather stay with Bluetooth car audio or just use the headphone jack on the S10. Otherwise, if you really want to improve your car audio quality, invest on car speakers and amps, which will offer much more improvement.
Q: Will this device work with my tv and sound bar, without the use of a cell phone or computer?
A: It will work with any source having a USB out, or that can be converted to a USB out with an adapter. Best Buy sells HDMI to USB adapters, so as long as your TV has an extra available HDMI out and your soundbar has an available audio in that accepts a headphone style audio input (or an RCA in with yet another adapter), it will work.
Q: Will these work with my Ipod touch?
A: Yes, if your iPod Touch is a 5th generation or later. It must have a Lightning port. You will need Apple's Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter to connect the Dragonfly to your iPod Touch: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W2AM/A/lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter?afid=p238%7CsUT3HWa3h-dc_mtid_1870765e38482_pcrid_246386725857_&cid=aos-us-kwgo-pla-btb--slid--product-MK0W2AM/A
A: Hello, the DragonFly DAC is compatible with Apple and Windows PCs, as well as iOS and most Android mobile devices. It would not work plugged directly into a TV unfortunately.
A: It is a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter). It replaces the DAC in your phone, tablet or computer and makes your music sound much better. It also contains an amplifier, so if you use it on your phone, you can connect headphones or earbuds directly to the Dragonfly for fantastic sound quality!
A: Hahaha, I’m sorry, Apple is a nightmare to work with sometimes. I gave up trying to use my iPhone and iPad for music. You’ll have to choose the specific output device from within iTunes and disable all enhancements. You want to choose the best sampling rate possible while you’re there. You’ll also have to open the Playback Devices panel from the taskbar and access the device properties. Disable all enhancements, and set your sampling rate. That was my solution to this problem awhile back. I highly recommend dropping Apple iTunes at some point and going with Tidal, especially with this product. I can’t speak to technical specifics, but Tidal can output MQA files at over 32-bit/196,000hz. I do not believe iTunes can output at the sampling rate the Dragonfly is capable of processing. And the library is extensive, and not cluttered/awkward like Spotify. Check out their prices. You will not regret it with the Dragonfly. I have rediscovered dozens of albums with Tidal’s exceptional quality, and the Dragonfly (and other DACs)
A: It would be helpful to know if you have a professional grade data recorder and microphone or if you are using a Smartphone as your recording device. This answer applies to the phone assumption. There is a lot of detail brought to the soundstage imaging that a quality DAC will, by design, set in the right places for the listener. The DAC is a interpreter of the digital signal as recorded, replayed and received. The quality of the sound source device, the recoding equipment and the quality of the recording environment all go into the recorded material signal. "Vocals" as sung and the recorded spoken voice are significantly different recording challenges. But, the Dragonfly DAC is very , very good at clarifying the midrange most "vocals" occupy in the final production of commercially produced recordings. If your recorded data file has the voice of your subject clearly discernible in playback, this device should improve the clarity of that voice. But is will do so as well for everything else that is on the data file. A good DAC cannot "clean up" recordings. It enhances every bit of digital data it receives. I hope this helps.
Q: CAN I USE IN MI GALAXIE 8PLUS WITH QC32 II BOSE ?????
A: Yes, if you can use them in a wired mode (but you have to use a USB A to USB C or USB MICRO adapter which ever fits your phone) then try TIDAL free trial
