This cable was definitely worth the extra money as opposed to the cheaper, lower quality choices. Upon opening it you feel how heavy and solid it is. I have had them hooked up for about a month now and wouldn't choose another kind in the future for additional speakers. I definitely recommend buying the longer spool for a 5.1 set-up in a moderate sized living room. We purchased the smaller spool at first and it wasn't close to enough. Save the hassle that I didn't.

I needed speaker wire for my rear speakers, which are Def Tech SR-9040 (8 ohm) speakers. This wire is CL3- rated for in wall use. Being a short run (35-40 ft) this 16 AWG wire is fine by most standards. I do wish there was 14 AWG still offered for longer runs (more than 50 ft) or a higher resistance factor (4 or 6 ohms) as I would have bought that. I didn’t want try and combine the wire from a 16/4 version (which makes 13 AWG) because the extra time it would take to strip and pair. I’m not a professional being paid, and am doing this on my day off, nor did I technically need it. It, as advertised, is pretty easy to wall fish through holes. It has good shielding but isn’t impossible to strip. It is NOT designed to use with the Audioquest SureGrip banana plugs as they are meant to work with the X2 14 AWG speaker wire. I cannot speak to the “directional clearity.” Honestly I think it’s a bit ridiculous and a marketing gimmick, but I followed it anyway because it couldn’t hurt I guess.

If you know home theater, you know Audioquest is one of the biggest and best names in the business. I used this to do direct runs from my rear speakers, through the attic, outside, and into my receiver in my living room. All in all, about a 60-70 foot run on each five or take some slack. This wire has definitely gave me an improvement over the wireless rear adapter I was using prior. Also, having both wires in a single jacket makes it much easier to run to where you need it. The only thing that would make this better would be if it was a 14G instead of 16G but for the price I got it for, it can’t be beat.

Pleased with the purchase, this was for a basement home theater gutted down to the studs, so pre-wired with this in the walls. It's very thick. It is also costly, and for the $100 for 100 feet I spent, in another area of the house I bought 500 feet of speaker wire from Home Depot for $139 and it's just as effective as this one. So I would recommend to a friend if cost isn't your #1 consideration.

Pretty simple stuff so it might be hard to justify $1 per foot when you can get rocketfish or monster for cheaper but I’ve handled other brands and the quality of this product sets it apart. Firstly the shield is pretty tough, takes a little doing to cut it away but you don’t have to be that careful to avoid cutting into the wire inside (I usually do it accidentally but not once on this install). Stripping the wire wasn’t a problem either, possibly because the strands are somewhat lower gauge. I usually lose some strands when stripping but I just put it in my kleins on 16 and good to go. As far as sound quality, no issues detected by ear, I’m sure you’d need some delicate instruments to determine any difference.

I'm using this cable for all my speakers. It's great for both In-wall and conventional use because it's easy and great to install due to the coating. I use bi-amped fronts and it sounds great.

Couldn't ask for an easier in-wall install. Sound quality is excellent!

Great speaker wire but a little expensive. It is very easy to cut through the outside jacket and expose copper so be careful. Otherwise, it works good.

i bought this type of wire because of its shielding. most is installed above drop ceiling in the basement with a lot of electrical wiring. It seems to prevent any distortion very well. It is also very easy to splice. The only complaint is the white color. It is very visible when traveling down walls.

Recommended by the sales reps that work in the Magnolia department. Was looking to use a thicker gauge, but was told due the short distance that it was not needed. Very easy to run and strip. I like how both wires were sheathed separate then together to help with both running the wire and insulation. Would recommend a pair of wire strippers. Was also informed that due to the way the copper is woven, make sure to follow the direction of the cable.

I didn't know too much about speaker wire and to be honest still don't but the salesmen recommended this product and I did the job. Very sturdy and easy to splice.

Plan on having someone come out to run wires through the walls, but came across this speaker wire. And it blends in very well running along the baseboard. Doesn't look tacky like I though it would. It is kids on the pricey side but you gotta come to terms with paying a good price for a good product especially if you want your speakers to sound great

Installed outside of wall and is next to invisible along the baseboard. Noticeable bump up in audio quality when going from a lower gauge thinner wire.

I love these speaker wires. So easy to work with. Only regret is I didn't buy more. I'm adding four more speakers to build out a home theater, and I'm short some fifty feet. The price is now three times as much for half the amount of speaker wire.

I work with all types of wire in the Oil Fields. Even some sound wire for our theater we have. I must say I do hear a big difference using this wire.

What can I say, it is speaker wire that meets its specifications. No complaints or concerns with the quality of the cable.

This is a good speaker wire for our entertainment system. We used this when we add speakers to our TV. Good Sound and clear.
