The plot is based on a book. Babylon A.D. leaves some plot holes in the theatrical version - that's how it feels anyway. I like it because, honestly, it makes me want to read the book and because the girl Vin Diesel escorts to New York from the convent is pretty hot.

This is riddick with training wheels on. It's not as bad as critics say. Although its not that great either. It's big bad church vs. Vin Deisel. We know how that plays out.

Fans of XXX and the Fast franchise will probably like this for the Vin Diesel content, over all a bit of a disappointment, though. I was hoping for a little more story and more action from this one. It tries to get the distopian future world thing going, maybe a bit like Blade Runner or Fifth Element, but I think it falls a little short. Worth a watch, but mainly for more hardcore SciFi fans. I'd recommend this to a friend if they were a SciFi or Fantasy fan, otherwise I probably wouldn't.
