Battle Beyond the Stars - DVD

ROGER CORMANS CULT CLASSICS. Seven mercenaries are recruited from throughout the galaxy to save a peaceful planet from the threat of an evil tyrant bent on dominating the entire universe. Among them are a lizard-like humanoid, a space cowboy, a female warrior and a brooding killer-for-hire.

A masked maniac prowls the beaches of Argentina. He captures beautiful girls, takes them back to his lair, and injects them with dope. This is when things get very weird. He then plays some freaky-sounding organ music to turn them into his zombie slaves. We won't tell you what he does to them, but it isn't pretty. There are some cringe-worthy moments involving hypodermic needles and there are numerous shock scenes.

Earth may soon be destroyed by a runaway planet controlled by a giant computer. Great cinematography with cool special effects and fine outer space scenes. One of Claude Rain's last roles. Snappy scientific mumbo jumbo adds to this action-packed sci-fi classic.
