Beatriz Ferreyra - A Distracted Godc - VINYL LP

Beatrice Dillon's first solo album - a strong body of work referencing Caribbean music, with a strong mastery of the rhythms and prestigious guests UK Bhangra pioneer Kuljit Bhamra (tabla); Pharoah Sanders Band's Jonny Lam (pedal steel guitar); techno innovators Laurel Halo (synth/vocal) and Batu (samples); Senegalese Griot Kadialy Kouyaté (Kora), Hemlock's Untold and new music specialist Lucy Railton (cello); amongst others.

With the jazz piano tradition at it's core, Human Being Human's sound is full of surprises and possibility. Passages of timeless openness, energetic, virtuosic improvisation and propulsive syncopated riffs rub shoulders with influences that span Bach counterpoints, electronica and ambient music.

Richard Dyer-Bennet (1913-1991) played a major role in the folk music revival of the 1950s and 1960s. He founded his own record tag in 1955 in order to maintain artistic control over the sound quality, repertory, and style of his performances. His meticulously cultivated vocal style, high tenor range, and his studied delivery of poetic text attracted adoring audiences across North America and Europe. In performing these songs arranged by Beethoven, Dyer-Bennet has set aside his guitar and is accompanied by violin, cello, and piano, creating an intriguing listening experience. Liner notes provide information on the origin of the Beethoven arrangements and the complete song lyrics.
