![Confessor - Uncontrolled - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/43ec6f6a-c8f8-4d34-ac41-958c185fbc85.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Raleigh, NC's Confessor made a name for themselves by crafting unapologetically heavy riffs with a unique flare for rhythmic shifts and odd time signatures. The band created quite a stir by playing all over the southeast and landing two tours in Europe, including the now legendary InchGods of GrindInch trek with ENTOMBED, CARCASS, and CATHEDRAL. With the of their 1991 debut album on Earache Records, Condemned, the group felt as though their chance was at hand to show the world that Confessor was unlike anything else. Unfortunately, record tag partnerships and politics forced Confessor off of the U.S. leg of InchGods of GrindInch in favor of a more InchhappeningInch act. Ongoing struggles with the tag led to lineup changes that altered the band's trajectory, and eventually they folded before seeing the mid-'90s. Luckily, over the years Confessor's controversial-yet-pioneering sound became accepted and adored by many in the metal community, ultimately leading to a reunion and follow-up album in 2005. Originally issued in early-2013, Uncontrolled collects all three of Confessor's early demo cassettes onto one CD. These are the recordings that helped the band get signed to Earache Records in 1990, and led to the eventual of the now-groundbreaking Condemned album. In lieu of the 2013 DVD, this revised edition of Uncontrolled-re-remastered by Jamie King Audio-features an updated tracklist that includes a previously unreleased radio broadcast recorded live on 88.1 WKNC's Chainsaw Rock in 1989, plus an expanded 20-page booklet with lyrics. For the fans, by the fans!

EARTHWORM ENSEMBLE is folk country rockin' children's music featuring I See Hawks In L.A., The Chapin Sisters, Mike Stinson, and two of Southern California's coolest roots musicians David Jackson and Brantley Kearns, vets of John Denver, Dwight Yoakam, and Emmylou Harris. The music is driving, sometimes wistful and ethereal, and always authentic. These are soulful and deep folk, bluegrass, old timey, and New Orleans funky styles played right and righteous (there's even a hip hop song featuring Sly Stone bassist Jimi Hawes). Parents, aunts, and uncles will love this as much as the kids. The lyrics are fun, subtly informative, and timely, reflecting eco themes and a return to do it yourself values. Witty verses teach how to make pizza, and how to cook corn if it's straight from the farmer's market. There are songs about trains, birds, buffalo migration, the earthworm's role in the earth's life cycle, an eco super hero bear and dog team, and a spaghetti western ballad on the magic of walking in the woods. A sweet lullabye about flying through space closes out the CD. This who's who of California folk/country also includes Discovery Science Channel host and country rapper Zachariah and TexMex/bluegrass vocalist Christina Ortega. Rocking guitars, fiddles, steel guitar, accordion, psychedelic bass and drum from some of L.A.'s best session players, and rich vocal harmonies make Earthworm Ensemble a new standout in children's music.
