Benet - Make 'Em Laugh - CASSETTES

2018 . The duo Råhypnos was formed 2015 in Gothenburg by Nadja Virgé and Pablo Rautenberg. They released their self-titled debut EP 2016 and the press described their music as dark Indie mixed with modern Pop. A club tour around Sweden followed and Råhypnos also got some media attention with interviews and a live performance on Swedish national radio (P4 Gothenburg). In 2017 Råhypnos main focus was on recording the album Do We Want It? The sound is impressive. It is well-produced and dynamic, with emotional contrasts between a melancholic minimalism and heavy walls of distortion. The album contains a wild blend of influences from rock and dark wave to electronica and modern dance music, and result is as convincing as it is experimental. Do We Want It? is a record about identity, limits and failures, but also about hope. The message is clear everyone has a responsibility and there is always a possibility for change.

If you don't feel the groove then don't think to pull through. Lovestruck Gen Z tackles nu-disco. Angelic harmonies over funky, driving bass lines-producer Cameron Smith builds up contemplative atmospheres before reliably diving back into upbeat dance territory with the flick of his filter knob. Lyrically, Benét sings about getting a crush, keeping a crush, crushing on a crush, getting crushed on-this is 4 songs for checking InchyesInch on someone's Inchdo you like me?Inch note. Benét's harmonic sensibilities act like punctuation and their vocal delivery is always believable and honest. This Richmond, VA based duo is just getting started. Undeniably approachable, this is an EP for anyone who has indulged in a night drive with the windows down.

The boiled down brother to their 30 song magnum opus NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT, PARALLEL PLAY is the latest from power pop royalty Sloan. Less a conscious answer to NHTEOI's unabridged creative approach, PARALLEL PLAY is a continuation of the musical concepts put forth on their last album and a further exploration of the band's four-songwriter dynamic. For Sloan, PARALLEL PLAY proves once again that four time the songwriters equals four times the rock.
