The Appetizers naturally came along from a collective of fine reggae musicians and avid collectors based around Milan, Italy. Born from the ashes of previous projects, the core of the band already had a solid musical connection, the desire to play authentic Jamaican music and a handful of ideas which would then evolve to become their first recording effort InchListen Up!Inch. Entirely self-produced and recorded through the hard times of 2020 and finally published on wax by Badasonic Records, the LP features ten original tunes ranging from sweet Rocksteady (InchPick Up The PiecesInch, InchWonderingInch, InchFancy Make UpInch), to Funk/New Orleans inspired jams (InchDem TalkInch, InchThe MessageInch, InchOl' LouisInch) and Early-Reggae scorchers (InchWalk The Long WayInch, InchPressureInch, InchTearsInch). As a bonus, dub master Victor Rice kindly offered to put his own spin on the instrumental mix InchDub FruitInch. Channeling the vibes from their Studio One, Treasure Isle and classic Funk influences, the Appetizers flow through organ cuts with toasting on top, hypnotic guitar and clavinet grooves, and come back to the roots of Reggae riddims in a creative and stylistic mix of sounds and lyrics while delivering organic messages on themes such as heartbreaks, socially accepted rules and contradictions and perspectives on life and music. Album Tracks 1. Walk the Long Way 2. Pick Up the Pieces 3. Wondering 4. The Message 5. Ol' Louis 6. Dem Talk 7. Pressure 8. Tears 9. Fancy Make Up 10. Dark Fruit 11. Dub Fruit By Victor Rice

There's nothing like the sound of a world-class bluesman getting back to business. Last October, when Bernard Allison returned to his old haunt of Bessie Blue Studios, Tennessee, to be greeted by fabled producer and career-long collaborator Jim Gaines, it felt like coming home. And when Allison fired up the amps, counted in the band and embarked upon his latest studio album, Highs And Lows, everything felt right with the world. InchJust to be able to create music again after the pandemic,Inch he says of that long-awaited rebirth, Inchwas incredible.Inch For 56 years, music has been Bernard Allison's essence. As the youngest son of the much-missed Chicago bandleader Luther Allison, he was a bluesman from birth, naturally drawn to this ancient music that seemed to heal deep wounds, and held spellbound by early encounters with heavyweights like Muddy Waters, Albert King and Hound Dog Taylor.
