The original white tag of her debut single 'Flavour Of The Old School' in late 1994 caused an immediate, massive street-level buzz, going on to become a certified UK swing anthem. Working with street soul studio wizards 2B3, British hip hop pioneers Blak Twang and more, the 1995 of 'The B-Funk' was heralded by the UK black music press as the arrival of a landmark new voice and Inchthe best British soul album everInch (Echoes), with Beverley later winning the R&B Act Of The Year prize at the 1996 Black Music Awards.
