The temptation to mythologize Bill Fay can be overwhelming; Fay was, for decades, as prolific as he was under-appreciated. Fay's unsung-hero status has changed slowly, steadily, on the order of almost twenty-five years. With each new album comes new hosannas and evangelizers - Jeff Tweedy, Kevin Morby, Adam Granduciel and Julia Jacklin, to name just a few.The Bill Fay Group, in particular, is Fay's most significant collaborative work; he records as a member of a larger group here, and the result summons a grander sonic scale, an elegent counterweight to Fay's instincts for the understated. Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow brings to bear the galactic qualities of early rock, the intricacy of jazz improv, and Fay's earthy folk magic.Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow has a patchy history recorded between 1978 and 1981, it was not released until 2005, when it appeared on CD with limited streaming and no vinyl companion. A 2006 reissue brought the album onto vinyl but with a truncated sequence and nine song missing. Now, finally, Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow arrives in full worldwide. Available on streaming services worldwide and pressed to a double-album vinyl edition, it features the album's original 22 songs and includes rare and previously unseen photographs from Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow's original recording session.In the words of Gary Smith and Rauf Galip, missing Bill Stratton, and abbreviated from the forthcoming album notes We chose five songs to record as finished pieces Life, Spiritual Mansions, Cosmic Boxer, Strange Stairway, Isles of Sleep, all recorded in two studio sessions. Floating into the Night is the debut album by the American dream pop musician Julee Cruise. It was released on September 12, 1989 on Warner Bros. Records. Contains 'Falling' (theme song of Twin Peaks) Music written & produced by Angelo Badalamenti & David Lynch Floating into the Night was produced, and all songs were written by, composer Angelo Badalamenti and film director David Lynch. Badalamenti composed the music to which Lynch wrote the lyrics. Two singles were released from the album InchFallingInch and InchRockin' Back Inside My HeartInch, both of which are featured in Lynch's television series, Twin Peaks. An instrumental version of InchFallingInch is used as the theme song to the series. Originally issued on Decca's Deram imprint in 1970, Bill Fay's debut album is a soulful and introspective folk-rock masterpiece - With it's warm, rich arrangements and heartfelt lyrics, it showcases Fay's poetic storytelling and enduring from-the-heart emotion. This 180gm vinyl re-issue replicates the original UK stereo pressing. Produced by Peter Eden and orchestrated by Michael Gibbs, Bill Fay's debut album is often stately, frequently poignant, and unfalteringly catchy. Fay's voice, a tentative mix of purity and knowhow is framed by high-period Decca arrangements, full of celestial strings and flourishing horns. The dressing does not take away from the immediacy of the material; a wistful eye cast across post-war Britain, removed from the cliches of the swinging sixties. Here as a hymnal full of kinship, family, encouragement and strangeness. For example, The Sun Is Bored the sun is bored, and the moon wants to get away to another place. Sing Us One Of Your Songs May while inventing The Streets 30 years before Mike Skinner appeared is a sweetly powerful rumination on grief. Methane River conflates pollution of water with a closed mind. Gentle Willie explores the complexities of pacifism; Be Not So Fearful championed by Jeff Tweedy is an aural equivalent of an arm around the shoulder. These are NOT moon-June-love ditties. Comparisons have been made to Nick Drake, but there is also Peter Sarstedt, Gilbert O'Sullivan and Brian Protheroe at play here. Original copies of Bill Fay change hands for three figure sums. For once, you can understand the price tag this a remarkably accomplished debut.
