Bill Wyman - Back To Basics - VINYL LP

About this product
Vinyl LP pressing. This is the result of some of Bill Wyman's rare visits to the recording studio singing and performing his own post-Rolling Stones material. Originally a 2015 , it was Bill Wyman's first solo album in 33 years. The album wears it's influences on it's sleeve - Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, JJ Cale - and there's more than a passing nod to Bill's own English background. It is that rare thing, a meld of styles and genres that actually work together - uplifting in a jaunty, dancey way and pensive in a bluesy, narrative way. As might be expected from one of the world's best known bass players, Back To Basics drives along with a rhythmic muscularity, and then slows the pace for more autobiographical lyric and melody. It is an album that warrants repeated play. It is also an album that was long overdue

Triple vinyl LP pressing. Yo! Boombox is the new instalment of Soul Jazz Records' Boombox series on the early days of hip-hop on vinyl, featuring some of the many innovative underground first-wave of early rap and disco rap records made in the USA between 1979-83. The album includes the first releases of seminal groups such as Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five and The Funky Four Plus One More, through to rarities and little-known obscurities such as the Carver Area High School band's 'Get Live 83', an awesome record made at a Chicago high school. The deluxe triple LP comes with 3x inner sleeves of extensive sleeve notes, exclusive photography and original tag artwork.

BILL WYMAN / DRIVE MY CAR Bill Wyman's new album 'Drive My Car' is out August 2024! Bill is back with his first album since 2015 - a masterful blend of Anglo-Americana rhythm and blues.

Limited four vinyl LP set. This box contains all four solo albums by Bill Wyman, the first Rolling Stone to a solo record. The first two (Monkey Grip from 1974 and 1976's Stone Alone, both issued on Rolling Stones Records) were made the help of a galaxy of musical friends like Lowell George, Dr John, Joe Walsh, Van Morrison, the Pointer Sisters, Danny Kortchmar, Dallas Taylor, Leon Russell, Bob Welch and Nicky Hopkins. The eponymous third album was home to Bill's 1981 big hit single Inch(Si Si) Je Suis Un Rock StarInch as well as follow-up hits InchCome Back SuzanneInch, InchA New FashionInch and InchVisions, while fourth album Stuff appeared in 1992, originally in Japan only. The albums are now issued on vinyl for the first time since their original (and Stuff on vinyl for the first time ever), gathered together in a beautiful rigid slipcase. The new inner sleeves feature all the lyrics and the musician credits.
