A: This Bissell will vacuum both surfaces, but to use the mop mode you have to switch the vacuum tank with the mop tank. The vacuum tank holds dirt and debris that was vacuumed. The mop tank holds the mopping solution and the rotating scrubber pads.

A: This unit is excellent for washing floors. However there are many better brands like ecovac that operate better to vaccume floors. This unit has a lot of problems getting back to its home. And gets stuck much more often than ecovac.

A: There is a bin for vacuum only. You can swap the bin out for the mopping attachment with will both vacuum and mop. However, the dust bin is smaller. If you have very dirty floors with lots of animal hair, crumbs, or 'stuff', you may need to use the vacuum only mode first.

A: I found that Wifi is not needed. Once can manually start the cleaning process by pressing the button on top.

Cleans great!
I really like this robot. It vacuums and mops great. Only thing is, it does not map the house. So it cleans on a random route. Probably it takes longer time than a robot that can map the house and draw a cleaning route but I’m not sure if they clean this well. I thought of returning it and buying one with more intelligence but because of its perfect cleaning performance I decided to keep it. I love love love it.

This Vac Did Over 1000 sq ft In One Charge!
I've used this vac twice and so far, I'm very pleased. The trash tank and water tank are a great size! I almost stopped it a few times to empty it because my other robot vac ends up cluttered with my GSD's constant shedding and leaves fur bunnies all over the floor if I haven't used it in a couple days. This one did the whole area and still had room in the trash bin. I'm not a fan of white appliances and such but, the docking station is nice. The only negative I have is the mop pad. Seems a little thin to do a good mopping like the blue Braava Jet pad does. I mopped once with this one and the floor felt clean but it wasn't very dirty. We are in the middle of a remodel so, guess time will tell if the mopping pad is a plus or minus.

Great Robotic Vacuum
The Bissell SpinWave Wet and Dry Robotic Vacuum is an overall well designed and quality made device with a few quirks. Pros: * Packaging - The product came in a well constructed/protective box with everything labeled and neatly packed in side. It had a cardboard insert with quick setup instructions as well as a printed manual. It comes with an extra set of microfiber mop pads, cleaning brushes, and replacement filter. It also includes a trial size of its Multi-Surface Cleaning Solution. * Setup - I found the setup to be very straightforward. I went to the iOS app store, downloaded the Bissell App, and followed the step-by-step instructions in the app. It connects via WiFi (2.4 GHz band) and is controlled within the app. Prior to the first use, it says it should be charged for at least 4 hours. * Battery life - I set it to the wet mode with auto pattern and mid fluid. After about 50 minutes of cleaning I sent it back to the dock and it displayed 1 bar left on the battery. I assume it could have kept going since it did not notify me about being low on battery. The battery life is on par with my other robotic vacuum. * Slim design - It is quite a bit smaller (vertically) compared to my other robotic vacuum which allows it to get under the edge of the cabinets without getting stuck. * Vacuum - The vacuum function works great with strong suction. I have two large dogs and a cat which means I have to vacuum a lot! This robotic vacuum did a great job picking up hair. It will definitely come in handy between deep cleaning with the upright vacuum. Indeterminate: * App - The app is easy to navigate with many great features such as product registration, scheduling, cleaning history, and multiple user videos (maintenance, different modes, etc); however, it is missing a few key features. The vacuum does not have a mapping ability which many of its competitors do. Instead, you just click the start button in the app and it begins cleaning. * Controls - It has limited controls (start/stop, mode for the mop fluid (low, mid, max), and pattern (auto or spot). * Usability - It seems to have trouble with furniture; specifically in my case, it was unable to navigate around the legs of my kitchen table. This resulted in several areas that did not get cleaned. * Mop - While the idea of the mop is cool, its functionality is lacking. It does a great job vacuuming; however when mopping, once the floor gets wet it starts to slip and can get stuck in the same spot. I had it error out a few times saying the front wheel was stuck. Other times it just spun in place. It makes a loud beep and notifies you in the app that something is wrong. This may be due to the vacuum being too light or the floor being too wet. I assume this would have been noticed during the initial product testing. Cons: * Lack of virtual barrier wall - Lets say I don't want the vacuum to clean a certain part of the floor. There is no way for me to tell the vacuum. Many competitors have a virtual fence that can be placed to keep the robot out of a certain area. Overall, I think the Bissell SpinWave is a great robotic vacuum at its price point. It has many great features with a few areas that could use improvement. I hope future generations have advanced mapping features and improved LiDAR navigation.
