About This Item

It is the year 2020 and Black Nail Cabaret have secured a headstart into the new decade. Not only have they successfully secured a record contract with Dependent, they also managed to hop on as support on Covenant's recent InchFieldworks 2020 TourInch (March and April), which is expected to give them another boost, as the Hungarian Dark Electronic Pop duo is known for their impressive live performances. And all this right before their new album InchGods Verging On SanityInch is supposed to hit the shelves in May 2020. Perfect timing. But there is more to Black Nail Cabaret than just timing, much more, actually. In their own words InchIt is the year 2020 and Gods are Verging On Sanity this is us, humans. We are gods, with an anus. We contemplate our place in the world, the meaning of our death. We find and create beauty and yet we eat, defecate and reproduce like any other animal on this planet. We are existential organisms and our minds struggle with this duality. We fight against our own mortality in different ways some with procreation, some with art, some with power and some just don't fight at all. How far have we come and where to go from here? How do we shed the old skin now that the new one is growing underneath?Inch Black Nail Cabaret consists of music, art, poetry, costumes, eroticism, BDSM. There are sexual references everywhere, but always with a dark twist, always with a connection to existentialism, that dark side in humanity, which is also one of the main layers of InchGods Verging On SanityInch. Singer/Performer Emese Arvai-Illes started out as a performer in a fetish/horror theatre group in Budapest, but quickly found programmer/producer/partner Kristzian Arvai to be her musical counterpart. Like in their lyrics, the music of Black Nail Cabaret fuses darkness with light, beauty with violence and disturbing art with rich harmonies. Modern electronic

Deftones - Around the Fur - VINYL LP
    4.6(12)

Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8. Dai the Flu 9. Headup 10. MX
