About this product
Vinyl LP pressing. BNQT is an indie rock supergroup founded by members of Midlake and features Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Jason Lytle (Granddaddy), Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), and Fran Healy (Travis). Their debut Dualtone , Volume 1, highlights each guest singer and writer on two songs each, including two sung by Eric Pulido of Midlake. The resulting record is a collage of sound and a venture into uncharted territory for all members involved. The band (pronounced InchBanquetInch) was formed after Pulido decided to reach out to members of bands they met on tour and create something that was different from anything they'd ever recorded; different from the sounds each band had created for themselves. With Volume 1, a camaraderie flourishes and the music brings together several unique voices and talents. Album Tracks 1. Restart 2. Unlikely Force 3. 100 Million Miles 4. Mind of a Man 5. Hey Banana 1. Real Love 2. Failing at Feeling 3. L.A. on My Mind 4. Tara 5. Fighting the World

With Play What's Not There, PWNT created another statement of intention that feels less geared toward shows of drum and stylistic prowess, with which PWNT is clearly endowed, and more toward songwriting and texture. The drums are even more dry, and acoustic guitar as a layering instrument has taken the place of keyboard and synth. Thankfully though, PWNT's love of horns remains. Resultantly, the songs sound older, both in terms of sonics and maturity. The respective descriptions of a Inchdreamy, hazy sound that feels perfectly aimed for... scorching summer afternoonsInch created for Inchtransporting listeners onto an inflatable flamingo in a Californian poolInch from ComplexUK and Dork Magazine certainly capture the peership that any listener could make between PWNT's Days In The Summer and Toro y Moi's June 2009 and What For? and Tame Impala's Lonerism, but those comparisons simply don't apply as readily for Play What's Not There. Album Tracks 1. Intro 2. From Me to You 3. All Depends on You (Feat. Will Fox) 4. Clouds 5. Lonely 6. Underwater Chateau 7. Goodbye Forever 8. Never So Bad 9. After Four (Feat. Lacore) 10.
