Bob James - Feel Like Making LIVE! - VINYL LP

GRAMMY® NOMINATED Jazz Hands is Bob James' third outing for evosound, following in the wake of 2018's Espresso and 2022's Feel Like Makin' LIVE. Produced by the pianist with his manager Sonny Abelardo, the ten-track album was mostly recorded during the months of the Covid pandemic and featured James in a number of different musical settings. It also features a stellar cameo from the ex-Gnarls Barkley singer CeeLo Green on the sensuous title track and includes production input from the legendary hip-hop turntablist DJ Jazzy Jeff, who rose to fame as half of the hit-making '80s/'90s rap duo, DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince, early samplers of James' music. Blending cool jazz tropes with funky dance floor grooves, blues-tinged ballads, cinematic mood pieces, and sensuous slow jams, Jazz Hands is the Missouri pianist's most eclectic album of his long career. Simultaneously classic and contemporary, it's Bob James at his majestic, ground-breaking, and timeless best. The album has been nominated for the GRAMMY AWARDS® for the category of InchBest Contemporary Instrumental AlbumInch - proving that the Jazz legend has no plans to slow down anytime soon. Album Tracks 1. Side A 2. Mambalicious 3. The Otherside 4. Jazz Hands (Feat. Ceelo Green) 5. Come Into My Dream 6. Beerbohm 7. Side B 8. The Alchemist 9. Mophead 10. The Secret Drawer 11. Sea Goddess

Jazz keyboardist Bob James' debut solo LP, InchOneInch, was released in April 1974. It reached #2 on the Billboard Top Jazz Albums chart and even crossed over to the US pop chart, where it peaked at #85. CTI released three singles from the album - James' take on Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky's 'Night On Bald Mountain', his version of Johann Pachelbel's 'In The Garden' and a cover of Eugene McDaniels Feel Like Making Love' - the latter was the only chart entry, peaking at #88 on the Billboard Hot 100. Although he went on to enjoy success with subsequent albums, InchOneInch had an enduring appeal. The advent of hip-hop saw producers and artists like Public Enemy and A Tribe Called Quest sample and incorporate James' composition 'Nautilus' into their own songs. It is now one of the most sampled tracks in American music history. Album Tracks 1. Valley of the Shadows 2. In the Garden 3. Soulero 4. Night on Bald Mountain 5. Feel Like Making Love 6. Nautilus
