About this product

Vinyl LP pressing. Body/Head is the duo of Kim Gordon and Bill Nace. Creative alchemy doesn't just happen in the studio or in the practice space; so much of it is the product of solo time with one's instrument, learning how body and wood and electronics fuse, and of subconscious processes as one lives one's daily life - picking up the ambient noise of the world outside, listening to others' work, talking through ideas with friends. For Kim and Bill, time together these days is limited to live performances and recording, so they've got to bring all their magic to every encounter. Lucky for us, these are two experimental sorcerers of significant renown. Their debut album together as Body/Head, Coming Apart, from 2013, was more of a rock record - heavy, emotional, cathartic, spellwork in shades of black and grey.

Muck and the Mires - Dial M for Duck - VINYL LP

Bostons International ambassadors of garage rock 'n' roll have once again teamed up with JIM DIAMOND (White Stripes) and KIM FOWLEY for an explosive 12-song scorcher of an album. FOWLEY describes the band as a cross between the 1964 BEATLES and the 1977 RAMONES. On InchDIAL M..Inch, they expand these influences to include hints of '60s BUBBLEGUM, '70s POWER-POP and even a LITTLE BIT O' SOUL! Their British Invasion-style songs are all two minutes long and all potential hits; their live show is a high energy blast of fast-paced post-punk, gritty garage rock and roll. Featured on MTV as the winners of LITTLE STEVEN VAN ZANDT'S (E-Street band/Underground Garage) national battle of the garage bands contest.

Body/Head - No Waves - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Body/Head is the duo of Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth, Free Kitten) and guitarist Bill Nace (Northampton Wools, Celyon Mange). They play experimental, free-form guitar drones highlighed by Gordon's unmistakable voice. Their sound is an immersive, three-dimensional experience and no two performances are similar. No Waves was recorded on March 24th, 2014 during Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN at the Bijou Theater. This live album captures Gordon and Nace at peak chemistry during the tour supporting 2013's critically lauded Coming Apart. The band have not played many shows since forming, but those who have been able to see them live have left their jaws on the floor. This album is the piece of the Body/Head puzzle for those who have not seen the band live and for those that have, something they want to own. Instead of presenting InchtracksInch or InchsongsInch from the record, they present moments from this one pinnacle set that was luckily for us beautifully caught in time. World-renowned artist and long-time friend of Gordon, Raymond Pettibon has made an original piece of art for the cover of the album.

Body/Dilloway/Head - Body/dilloway/head - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. This debut album resulted from Body/Head (the duo of Kim Gordon [Sonic Youth, solo] and Bill Nace) handing over previously unreleased studio sessions to Aaron Dilloway (solo, formerly of Wolf Eyes) for processing and editing. The result is unmistakably a complete synthesis of their respective sounds and styles, a sum that makes sense and leaves you wondering 'how didn't this happen sooner?' Any attempt to describe the nature of this particular collaboration is fraught, with it impossible to say where lines might get drawn, because there simply aren't any. One of this LP's many pleasures is the inability to identify specific emotions within it, despite the undeniable emotional responses it elicits. Instead, these are memories of moods, nascent feelings we haven't grown into yet. As a wise and oft-repeated doctor once told/warned us, don't dream it, (listen in and) be it ' give yourself over to Body/Dilloway/Head.
