Bon Iver, Bon Iver is Justin Vernon returning to former haunts with a new spirit. The reprises are there solitude, quietude, hope and desperation compressed but always a rhythm arises, a pulse vivified by gratitude and grace notes. The winter, the legend, has faded to just that, and this is the new momentary present. Bon Iver, Bon Iver was recorded and mixed over the course of three years at April Base Studios, a remodeled veterinarians clinic located in rural Fall Creek, Wisconsin. Album Tracks 1. Perth 2. Minnesota, Wi 3. Holocene 4. Towers 5. Michicant 6. Hinnom, TX 7. Wash 8. Calgary 9. Lisbon, Oh 10. Beth/Rest
Pronounced Inchbohn eevair; French for Inchgood winterInch and spelled wrong deliberately. This debut is centered around a particular aesthetic; Justin Vernon, the primary force behind Bon Iver, moved to a remote cabin in the woods of Northwestern Wisconsin at the onset of winter, alone for three months. This solitary time fed a bold, uninhibited new musical focus. All his personal trouble, lack of perspective, heartache, longing, love, loss, and guilt that had been stockpiled over the past six years was suddenly purged into song. The NY Times called this record InchirresistibleInch, and it was given a InchRecommendedInch by Pitchfork. RIYL Iron & Wine, M. Ward, and Elliott Smith. Album Tracks 1. Flume 2. Lump Sum 3. Skinny Love 4. The Wolves (Act I and II) 5. Blindsided 6. Creature Fear 7. Team 8. For Emma 9. Re Stacks
