Q: The photo indicates a rear downdraft vent. Which one is being used or it included?
A: Hi Sam, thank you for your question and interest in Model:NGM8057UC. The Downdraft Vent is not included with the Gas Cooktop. The Downdraft Vent shown is Model: HDD80051UC.
Q: Are the knobs on the NGM8056UC model metal or plastic? Same question for the model NGM8057UC?
A: Hi Phredd, thank you for your question and interest in Model:NGM8057UC. Yes, the knobs on both cooktops are metal.
Q: Does this come with a downdraft fan or can one be installed with it? If so, which one?
A: Mary - unless major changes have been made over the years, I would not recommend a downdraft with a gas cooktop. Although my experience was with another highly rated cooktop & vent (not this manufacturer), the vent was not strong enough for the front burners. Even worse ... the flame on the rear & center burners was actually pulled towards the downdraft. This resulted in very uneven cooking ... high flame in the back, low to no flame in the front of the pans. I would ask for a demonstration before pairing a downdraft with a gas cooktop.
A: Hi EigerGirl. Thank you for your question. One way to determine the CFM needed is to take the kitchen square footage, multiply by 15 (assuming 1 exhaust), then divide that result by 60.
Q: What is the difference between “built-in” and regular gas cooktops?
A: Hi Theresa, thank you for your question. All cooktops are basically built-in as they have to be installed within the cabinet.
