I am SUPER SAD because I am stuck with a $4000 mistake and Best Buy says they cannot help me. I do not recommend this model because it lacks the timer that can shut off the individual burners. This is a SUPER USEFUL feature because you can set a sauce to simmer and not risk burning or overcooking if you forget about it. It is standard in so many single burner units and the cooktops I’ve used on the past. A DEAL KILLER. I have used induction stovetops for several years. When choosing one for my mom’s remodel I chose the top of the line Bosch. I did a lot of research for ease of use, reliability and consumer satisfaction. I wasn’t able to see it working in the store because none of the cooktops were plugged in however you could see Kitchen Timer and Autochef printed on the surface which promised all kinds of automated cooking. The employees at the store were very nice and looked up things in the manual but had no experience with induction cooktops other than training sessions so could not offer any experience. I did not specifically ask for this feature, (especially after learning that they all used gas so we couldn’t really discuss our experiences) because like a remote control for a TV, I’d assumed, especially at this price point, it was standard. When I finally got it installed last week, I was not able to set a timer for each burner to shut off. There doesn’t seem to be any feature that is “automated” despite the Autochef feature. The auto shutoff timer is the best feature of an induction stove and if you pay close to $4000 for all these electronic features one you should get. If you’re making hard boiled eggs, simply set it for 9 minutes and it shuts off automatically. If you are simmering a sauce you can set it for 10 minutes and not overcook it. The Kitchen Timer is just a timer, like you have on your watch or cell phone and does not turn the burner off. The Autochef just keeps it at a certain level but not for any specified time. I would like to exchange this but I am ineligible because I separated the installation from the delivery and the exchange/return period is from the delivery, not the installation. How can I know if the item is suitable before it’s installed? Not to self, if you ever buy from them again and you are delayed installing the item, return it and buy it later. This is an item they still carry and all I want is for someone to have some compassion and offer some kind of help. Instead they are just saying I’m out of luck. I’m willing to pay for restock or their lost profit because they are in a much better position to sell this cooktop than I am and I probably can’t even give it away. I went straight to Pacific Sales because my contractor said they were good. I didn’t price shop or even get any discounts. I bought their club membership at their suggestion and I would hope they could be flexible to keep a customer happy.

Not really a review. It didn’t fit in the available space. It was a replacement for a malfunctioning new Dacor cooktop, but we had to go back to the Dacor that fit. So I can't tell you how ut is. Smart installation crew though.

I installed my Bosch Benchmark 36" built in Induction cooktop and love it! It took some time to learn how to set the temperature levels, but after a little bit of time have adjusted from my gas cooktop the induction. Love the instant speed of heat and instant off of heat! I can't believe that Induction cooking is still so unknown. I think everyone should have induction cooktops.
