Avatar is a fantasy that follows a paraplegic marine, Jake Sully, who embarks on a mission to a moon called Pandora in exchange for spinal surgery. It's here that he becomes mesmerized by the new world and essentially torn between the two settings. He now must decide if he's going to accomplish his original mission of mining for rare materials in the land or end up protecting Pandora after forming new relationships with the aliens, even falling in love with one of them. As the Colonel begins to see Jake's change of heart, he attempts to force the solider to carry out the original plans or threaten the safety of Pandora, which ultimately leads to a battle that will determine their future.
