Boyscott - Spellbound - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

On Goose Bumps, Connecticut's Boyscott present ten upbeat tracks that forge together elements of surf rock and bedroom pop. Weaving these supple sounds of yore into the techniques of today, Boyscott's distinct bedroom-recorded bops betray the limitations of their modest studio situation with a sonic depth not commonly associated with lo-fi projects.Originally released in 2015, Goose Bumps is getting it's first vinyl reissue with a co- by Topshelf Records and Babe City Records. Although it took a few years of rotating casts, various makeshift studio experiences, and over a hundred shows, Boyscott have clearly carved out their own place in the world, garnering millions of streams and selling out many DIY physical pressings in the process.01 Sleepwalk02 Blonde Blood03 Nova Scotia 50004 Marco Polo05 Sinking Down06 RIP Sophie Moore07 Killer Whale08 Lake House09 Embarrassingly Enough10 Sleepaway

The Popcorn genre is a style of music and dancing first established in Belgium (the Land of Beers) in the late 1960s and it got it's name from a discotheque called the Popcorn. This style includes a pretty eclectic and wide range of American of R&B and pop songs mostly recorded in the 1950s and mid-1960s in a slow or medium tempo and often in a minor key. Popcorn can be recognized by it's tempo just as much as it's sound. In an article for The Guardian titled InchBelgium's 'Popcorn the last underground music scene in EuropeInch musician and writer, Bob Stanley wrote Inchthe purity of Belgian Popcorn is it's very impurity. R&B, Broadway numbers, tangos, Phil Spector-Esque girl groups, and loungey instrumentals, they are all constituent parts of a rare, and still largely undiscovered scene. It won't stay that way forever.

With InchsYnInch, Soulbound present their most uncompromising work to date. The melodic industrial metal band's fourth studio album strikes a dark, direct tone and remains as catchy as it is uncomfortable. Between brutal self-reckoning, social criticism and sacred exaltation, sYn spins a dense thematic thread around the central motif of sin - rethought, interpreted in many different ways and bitterly personal.Musically, the band remains true to itself sYn combines hard riffs, brute synths, pounding beats and anthemic choruses. Somewhere between NDH, metalcore and electronically distorted world pain. But instead of bold provocation, it's about attitude. It's about admitting to being fallible. About contradicting dogmas and wrestling with one's own precipice.InchIf we're considered sinners, might as well be it with purpose and flair!Inch, says the band. This is exactly how sYn sounds raw, honest, angry, but also vulnerable. An album like a mirror that doesn't embellish, but confronts. No pure accusations, but an outcry. Not enlightenment, but flames in which you stand.
