About this product
Big Crown is proud to present the second 45 from the darling dears of Rialto, CA, Brainstory. We dropped their debut single on the tag back in March and it instantly caught on with all the sweet soul fans. This new 7Inch showcases the funkier, jazzier but equally soulful side of Brainstory. Their debut album InchBuckInch, produced entirely by Leon Michels is due out in October of 2019. The A side, InchBreatheInch, takes a page out of the Shuggie Otis playbook and then flips the script with some stoned out, west coast swag. In the words of Kevin, Brainstory's lead chanteur, InchBreathe is a song about letting go of the emotional baggage of our lives in order to become who we truly are. Before this new journey can happen we got to stop back and take a breath. Relax. Use the power of this simple act to become your higher self.Inch Side B, InchSorryInch keeps on with the same swagger as Breathe but finds brother and bass player extraordinaire, Tony, taking over the vocal duties. In his words, InchSorry is an expression of the truth in a relationship that has ran it's course. Nobody wants to say it but eventually this truth prevails and becomes undeniableInch.

Brainstory is back with a pairing of tunes that the world's top sommelier couldn't hold a candle to. This gorgeous two-sider features the two vocal songs from their otherwise instrumental forthcoming EP, Ripe.On Side A, Seasons showcase Brainstory's sunny California soul and mixes in a touch of Roy Ayers east coast energy. The result is an infectious and uplifting tune penned at the beginning of quarantine with the hope of finding a brightside in the trouble the world is facing.Sibe B, Bye Bye, is another stone cold B side ballad from the group that gave us Dead End. The Darling Dears of Rialto have recorded what is sure to become another staple in sweet soul sets around the globe. But, in true Brainstory fashion this tune is uniquely theirs. Elements of psych, hip hop and jazz distance it from their soul-loving peers.

They're baaaack... While Brainstory is in the studio finishing their sophomore full-length, they treat us to this bombshell of a 7Inch as a taste of what's to come. They teamed back up with El Michels Affair who is handling production on the whole album and everything about this is leveled up. This show stopping plug & ballad two-sider is clear evidence of that. Side A is an uplifting, dance floor burning, smash hit that shows what years of touring and backing Lady Wray have brought out of Brainstory. InchNobody But YouInch is built on drummer Eric Hagstrom's crushing back beat that lays the foundation for this inspirational feel good banger that manages to take the uncomfortable truth that Inchnobody will save you but youInch and turn it into pure blissful motivation. Then... then, they drop a ballad on the flip side that is going to cause an entire scene to reconsider how they are doing it. The B side InchGift Of LifeInch is drop dead gorgeous, haunting, and profound all at once. An homage to the mysteries of life and the intangible truths that the human experience is built on.
