A: That depends on how you have the game(s). if you have a .d64, .d71, .d81 (or any other archival copy on a modern system), you can load it via USB, MicroSD, or over LAN. if you have an original cartridge, just plug it into the back like an original 1982 machine. same with Floppies and tapes, although you'd need the original peripherals for those formats (meaning 5.25 disk drive or Dattasette unit). as far as new games, there isnt a lack of those from dedicated people (check the official website for details). there are games released as late as last year available. not to mention you have the ability to make your own games using BASIC or machine language just like the original. all-in-all this is meant to be as close to a 1-to-1 replica as it gets to the original. only difference is modern construction and features on top.
Q: Can I run Linux on it? Or office tools like a word processor?
A: OS: No. This runs the original Commodore 64 BASIC operating system. It is fully compatible with all software and hardware made for the C64 since 1982. Word Processor: Yes. This can run GEOS which is a full office suite made to run on the C64. Disclaimer: The modern public is used to decades of advancements in office suites, so temper your expectations to what would've been possible in the 1980s. However, the new C64 can operate at much higher speeds than the original which will certainly have a positive effect compared to what was possible in the 1980s. However, expect a distraction-free and "pure" computing experience unlike pretty much any modern operating system. I have 2x of this same device, but in the "Founder's Edition" variant.
