The most unique '50s TV western lead may well have been gun-shy cardsharp Bret Maverick (James Garner), anti-hero of this beloved 1957-62 ABC program. Often joined by brother Bart (Jack Kelly, who became the full-time star after Garner's 1960 departure), Maverick's weaknesses for gaming and women led to fixes he reluctantly had to fight his way out of. This complete series collection contains all 124 episodes on 32 discs, now remastered
James Garner and Jack Kelly ante up for more high-stakes cons and games of chance in Season Three of this smart and witty Emmy -winning series (Best Western, 1959). Luck is still the lady they love best, as footloose gamblers Bret (Garner) and Bart (Kelly) Maverick tangle with Indian war parties, killer cattlemen, feuding families, a stubborn marquesa, their conniving old Pappy (Garner in a dual role) and more, in 26 offbeat adventures
