I watched this film the evening I purchased it. It is directed by the same director that did the 1st Guardians of the Galaxy film. But this film is on a completely different level. Definitely not for the squeamish. I was on the edge of my seat through out the entire movie. Without giving anything away, I hope they do a sequel for this film. It was that good! I gave it 5 stars...

I had high expectations and was not disappointed. It is one of those movies that you like even better when you think about it after. Crisp and clean blu ray with cool extra features. The after the credits could set up a whole universe. Bought a ton of movies for Black Friday.

If you're tired of all these movies acting like all comic books are nothing but superheroes that do nothing but good and never harm a fly, yet when you're a serious comic book reader you realize it's a lot more mature and dark finally a movie that takes you more seriously, if you enjoyed watchmen if you enjoyed the darker takes on comic books, this is a great movie for you. Don't get me wrong some movies are pretty good too, take what they did with old man Logan a messy comic book, that movie (Logan) was great but rather than I do not own any of the other Marvel movies because they're just not for me, I stopped being a kid long time ago I started reading comic books when I was a kid and even then they were darker than a lot of these movies now a days that are, they're fun and entertaining for the masses, but just a bit to kidish for me, DC Usually has a more mature taken these things but lately they've been feeding the masses instead of the comic book readers hopefully they fix that, Some of these new movies like the Joker seem to have a more mature taken in the story telling, which I like, just like this movie, it's not for kids that's for sure, It's not perfect but it's a good fun watch especially if you want a more dark taken to story telling, Pay attention to the end credits hopefully they carry on I'm making more movies like this.

Brightburn feels like an incomplete movie. There is essentially no third act, at least not within a more traditionally structured story. The film introduces the character and sees him grow into his powers while cutting ties with everything that once loved and could love him, but it leaves it at that. There's no challenge, no conflict, no opposition on his plane. Perhaps the opposition is emotion, but there's also no pull between right and wrong, and the family ties are not strong enough to even tempt Brandon to step away from mayhem. The picture is passably entertaining, at least, and it's technically sound, but it needs more. Sony's UHD offers little video upgrading over the Blu-ray -- slightly improved color and contrast are really about it -- but the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is a clear step up from the Blu-ray's 5.1 lossless track. Recommended.

Truly terrifying, this horror thriller is imaginative and gruesomely clever and original in its storytelling. Not that any of us is going to necessarily find an abandoned baby in in a basket in our backyard at night, but should it happen, it's possibly best to bring to bring the baby to the authorities. Although the parents in this film were unable to conceive a child of their own....their bad luck was to find an alien infant who grows up to be a child monster of deadly proportions. Factual it's not, but truly terrifying as cinema entertainment. BRIGHTBURN is not horror cinema one can easily forget. Watch it with a loved one or friend. It's pretty scary!

After the deluge of superhero movies, they all start to look the same. What's nice about Brightburn is that it's unique in that the superhero is actually a villain. While the young boy who crash lands on Earth starts out normal, he takes a dark turn once he realizes he has superpowers. The change was interesting to watch and his reign of terror was difficult to watch at times because of the horror movie like gore sprinkled throughout the movie. It certainly made for a memorable flick even though some people who might usually like superhero movies might find the scenes of violence to be too disturbing.

This movie is just phenomenal!!! It’s just really good! Yeah it’s got it’s flaws but it’s so entertaining. It’s pretty much a dark side story of Superman, I really appreciated leaving the character thinking he’s still a kid instead of thinking himself as a living god like his drawings mean in the movie. It’s dark, it’s GORY, but it does lack emotion between the kid and his parents. Very well crafted dark superhero movie. Definitely a must watch! Don’t expect lots of action right away, remember this is an origins movie

Although they say this movie is not about Superman, the powers and abilities of the character are all Superman. This movie explores the possibility that the earth's mightiest hero is actually sent to earth to conquer it. The movie is dark and suspenseful. Although some scenes could have been lit and shot better where we are reminded that they are on a movie set. All in all, a good movie that missed being a great movie by a bit.

Wow, this movie impressed me. It's gritty, dark and graphically gory in some spots when you really don't expect it. Great pacing! Excellent acting! Good production design and special F/X and gooey, bloody bits! I enjoyed the anti-hero aspect of the script! Talk about subverting expectations! All in all, a very enjoyable flick, if you like your superheroes dark, brooding and deranged! Give it a shot! Turn your brain off and enjoy.

I did not have the chace to see this movie when it was on theaters, and now that its finally out on 4k and digital i have to say it really is a great film to watch. I wish there was a little more to the story, but James Gunn brought a great concept to the table with this movie. I really hope it picks up a sequel, and maybe a sony/DC partnership? to bring Dark Justice League now that Gunn is also part of DC.

This is a must have movie! Everything you thought you know about the young Clark Kent aka Superboy? Well.. that's not this! Mouth dropped soo many times watching this film, that I caught a few flies! I hope they release the next film very shortly. I am anxious to see how far will they go with it. Amazingly dark anti-hero film!

I had a friend that went to the theatre and saw this movie and came back with nothing but raves, So I brought it and looked at it last night. I was pleasantly surprise to see that it was actually very good. We need a sequel!!!! The acting was great and the content was intellectually simulating. Part science fiction part horror...nice combination

The straight-forward plot is pretty simple -- what if Superman was also the villain of a horror movie? It's got a lot of great "What if" scenarios and decent effects that make for a memorable movie. The standout strong point is the cast and acting -- plus a sleek style from a visionary director.

An obvious nod to DC's Superman .. what if an alien was found in an American farm but instead of turning out to be the Big Blue Boy Scout turned out to be vile & vengeful? My only complaint is they should have made him a little older.. even 2 or 3 years older. PLUS they sort of introduce evil versions of Wonder Woman and Aquaman!

Yes, 5 minutes in and it made me jump in my seat, Then again, and again. The performances are lackluster but the story is original enough to want to hang in there to the end. I won't say anything else so as not to spoil it for anyone but I will say the image and sound quality are great and I'm happy to add it to my collection.

I have heard a lot of good things about Brightburn. I was not disappointed at all. This movie goes hardcore. When you think the young man might have a little compassion, he totally goes left. And I mean way left. Hope there are other movies like this that will be made. By the look of the end credits, it seems like there will be.

Even though I expected little more action, The movie was good overall. I Loved It, Brightburn gives you that cringy, “I can’t look” feeling. This movie had some moments when you just had to look away ! Ultimately, I enjoyed every bit of it. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

I was going to pass on this movie originally, but decided out of boredom to pick it up and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed it a lot. It is an interesting twist to a new movie genre I suppose, Superhero horror. The kid is definitely creepy, not a lot of shocks, but is very entertaining.

Don’t wanna destroy and experience of enjoyment soo ill jus say very well worth the money!! The acting was on par and the score helped drive the movie along its creepy and suspenseful storyline! This morning had my attention the entire time and I watch a lot of movies at times and this one had me glued to the entire time!
