A: The Brother XR-9550PRW can sew up to 6mm in thickness, when using a larger size needle. The machine comes with a needle set that contains sizes 11, 14 and 16.
Q: Does this machine have a hard case?
A: It comes with a "HARD COVER" which sits on top of the machine. There is no mechanism to attach it to the machine. It cannot be used to make a carrying case. A remedy is to buy the Singer soft, padded carrying case. It holds the machine, the extended table, foot pedal, power cord and sewing notions. The case is great. The 2, 2-way zippers open the case on 3 sides for easy loading of the machine.
Q: Does it come with a 1/4 inch foot or a walking foot.
A: No Walking foot. I had one already from my other machine my sister bought me separately.

A: Yes, it does it is in a separate box. Easy to install. I think a sturdy table is all you need. I put it on a 4 ft folding table bought at wallyworld years back. The pic is on the coffeetable but I just set up the little fold table and place the machine on it and it is perfect. That is the second picture of the table

A: No, but it comes with an overlock foot and has several overlock stitch patterns including one for knit and stretch fabrics, or alternatively, it comes with a double needle.
Q: The alphanumeric stitches- can they be adjusted to different sizes?
A: The alphanumeric stitches in the Brother XR9550 are only available in one size.
