About this product
Eagerly awaited new album from Glasgow pop perfectionists Bubblegum Lemonade! Timed for just as springtime reaches Scotland, 'Desperately Seeking Sunshine' is the latest hit parade from prolific multi-instrumentalist Laz McCluskey with a liberal dose of backing vocals by Sandra of fellow Scottish band Strawberry Whiplash. Lead track 'Our Mother's House' is a jangly autobiographical radio hit proudly heralding the return of Glasgow's finest with a song featuring Rickenbacker guitars, glockenspiel, layered harmonies and excellent backing vocals. 'Warm Heart Cold Feet' boasts shimmering major seventh chords, classy arpeggio guitars, a Beach Boys bass line, and a tambourine shake finish, while 'First Dance For the Last Time' is Laz laughing at his own mortality-classic country song writing in indie pop clothing, witty lyrics, a life-affirming zippy guitar intro, jangling Fender Jaguar guitar solo, and plenty of sha-la-las all at 170bpm.

Smashing 2016 EP from popular Glasgow band Bubblegum Lemonade! Lead track 'Beard On A Bike' goes straight for the pop jugular with an instantly catchy tale of a psychopath on a cycle path. The song is a preview of the band's album The Great Leap Backward. The EP also features three non-album tracks exclusive to this . 'Golden Afternoon' is a mid tempo song with a baggy rhythm and ace 12-string Rickenbacker guitars, while 'Saturday Girl' is an effervescent ode to weekend warriors with racing guitars and 'Looking Out For You' is a poignant late night tale showcasing superb harmonies and jangling guitars. Limited to 1000 copies in custom minijacket sleeve, Beard On A Bike is essential Scottish pop for your summer playlist and another absolute gem for the Matinée discography.
