In early 2012 Burnt launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to help fund our first professionally engineered recording project. The result is our 6th album of original music, entitled 'Radio Quemado' (which means Burnt Radio in Spanish). As a band we are so grateful for the opportunity to have recorded in the world-class Old School Studio (Caspar, CA) with engineer Calvin 'Crash' Turnbull. Being in this studio feels like moving through a beautifully curated vintage instrument museum. It is a very, very special place. We therefore decided to invite the most talented musicians we know to join us in the experience. The rhythm tracks were recorded in just 3 days. Danny (Guitar, Vox), Matt (Bass) and Rob (Drums) were joined by the incomparable Ryan Tomazin (of The Debonaires), who laid down beautiful Hammond Organ and upright Piano on almost every track. The band was guided through these sessions by co-producer Chris Baca, who also helped produce Burnt's first two albums Chorro (2005) and Esperanza (2006). Radio Quemado also features performances from the horn section of The Debonaires (Riverside, CA). The contributions of Tom Cook (Trombone and keys), Marques Crews (trumpet) and Dave Sakover (Sax and Clarinet) add a tremendous amount of depth and energy to Radio Quemado. Although some horns were recorded at the Old School Studio, a good portion were engineered and recorded by Tom Cook at his home studio in Riverside. The quality of those tracks is a testament to Tom's multi-talented musicianship. For lead guitar (also recorded in Riverside), the band turned to their friend and Minister of Burn, the legendary Joe Ransom. His unmistakable tasty licks and searing solos give the album tremendous dimension. The album also features a self-recorded guest vocal (track 6, Bandito) from underground hip-hop guru Karmic Basis! Because of the tremendous amount of hard work and ded
