Limited clear vinyl LP pressing. What an outstanding compilation of artists who played at the International Pop Underground Convention in 1991. You read the performers list; from Bratmobile, to Courtney Love, to Bikini Kill, to Nirvana, to 7 Year B*tch. This is a beautiful 'snapshot' of the best of the early 90's west coast, and perhaps more importantly and as the liner notes accurately put it, 'all of these bands have faith in the future of punk rock and they are, without question, punk rock.' Kill Rock Stars is an excellent 14-track various-artists collection capturing the essence of early-'90s indie-rock pop underground. It's divided equally between amateurish indie-pop, abrasive punk and riot grrrl, featuring many of the best underground bands of that time, including Bratmobile, Mecca Normal, Bikini Kill, Heavens to Betsy, Unwound, Nation of Ulysses, Some Velvet Sidewalk, Nirvana, and Lois performing under the name Courtney Love. If there was a single compilation of 'Grunge' this would be it. Between Bikini Kill, Infamous Menagere and Nirvana, you really get a sense of what was going on during the early 1990s. I don't think it is over the top to say that this is a slice of music revolution.

Limited translucent sea blue colored vinyl LP pressing. Butcher Brown's limitless musical range shows no boundaries by genre and time. The band's newest , Letters From The Atlantic, displays a seamless blend of jazz, rock, funk, R&B, soul, bossa nova and more. Following Solar Music (2023), Butcher Brown's new project moves toward an indie groove, featuring female guest artists Yaya Bey, Melanie Charles, Leanor Wolf, Mia Gladstone, Victoria Victoria, along with Nicholas Payton & Neal Francis.

2018's Camden Session is a snapshot of Butcher Brown's explosive energy, groove-heavy sequences, and unrivalled togetherness. Their playing is modern and innovative, yet contains rich echoes of Weather Report, Return to Forever, early Earth Wind and Fire, and Zappa. DJ Harrison is broadly seen as the visionary in an albeit egalitarian band. His keys provide the harmonic colors around which drummer Corey Fonville's (Christian Scott, Nicholas Payton) muscular delivery and bassist Andrew Randazzo's effortless cool pulsate. Multi-instrumentalist Marcus Tenney on saxophone/trumpet and Morgan Burr's guitar complete the quintet. Recorded at Mark Ronson's Zelig Studios and cut live to disc at Gearbox Records in London using their legendary all-analogue signal path. Engineered by the legendary Tony Platt. No edits, no overdubs.
