Without active equalization, 36 AWG conductors would lose too much signal for 4K. The built-in RedMere chip amplifies and equalizes the high-bandwidth signal at the receiving end, recovering 4K Ultra HD at 30Hz, 1080p at 120Hz, HDR10, ARC, CEC, and HDMI Ethernet Channel up to 10.2 Gbps.
