Glad sales man knew what he was talking about when he pointed out the distance from one burner to the other. I have large pots and pans and with the competitors I would not have been able to use may pans side by side. So measure the distance of the burners from center to center when you are shopping around. The knobs illuminate when turned on, which came in handy when I left one on by mistake.

This cooktop is nice and large, and also has a button to shut the gas off in case young kids would go and turn any of the knobs, which is great because I have young grandchildren!

We've only had this installed for about a month but so far we love it. We are currently on LP gas but switching to natural gas, so the fact that this cooktop has the same power on LP is fantastic.

Buyer beware of additional "installation" charges

We recently purchased this cafe gas cooktop and paid for delivery and installation (installation charge of $179.99). When they installers arrived, they told us the current gas valve was not the correct one and we would need to pay an additional $120 to install a replacement. Knowing that the stove top was almost already installed, I felt “stuck” with this additional valve change fee. After the gas stove top was installed, the installer noted that the burner tips were setup for natural gas and would need to be changed to support propane (the propane parts came with this version of the stove top). Following the change out of the burner tips the installers left, came back five minutes later with a Best Buy representative on their phone. The representative told me there would be yet another “installation” charge to support the burner tip change out (the stove top came with the replacement propane burner tips) that charge would be an additional $100. So basically, we purchased this $2,200 stove top and had to pay three different installation fees totaling $400. The “my Best Buy total” membership provides nothing useful. I looked at our account noting since January of 2020 we have spent $19,947 in kitchen appliances, small home appliances, computers, computer accessories, T.V.’s, headphones, and entertainment equipment. Best Buy has just lost our complete and full business over $400 in compounded installation fees on a one item installation. Unfortunately, we have decided we would not purchase another item from Best Buy knowing how they stack charges in this manner.

So far so good and even though there was an issue with the grills being cracked the installers were professional and very helpful in assisting us in who we need to contact to have that issue resolved. I think this cooktop will work out well.

Knobs are plastic and will MELT if hot pan slides.

Love the stove top, but the knobs are made of plastic and MELT if a hot pan slides on them! Attempting to find a replacement knob. Have already ordered a new set, only to have them melt again!

Our team will be informed of the trouble you had with the knobs for review and consideration; we appreciate your feedback, as we always want to ensure we’re aware of any possible areas of concern. Regarding replacement of the knobs, if you were looking for the Stainless Steel versions the control knob is listed as part WB03X29392 and the lock out knob is listed as part WB03X29393. Those may be available with a local store or your preferred dealer, or they can be purchased through our GE Parts website. If you were interested in one of the other options for the knobs (such as Brushed Copper or Brushed Black), you can also use our GE Parts website to look up your model number and see which knobs would be compatible; you are of course always welcome to reach out to us again as well.
