Ray Barretto - Barretto Para Bailar - Limited 180-Gram Vinyl with Bonus Track - VINYL LP

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Includes bonus track. This presents the complete original LP Barretto para bailar, which was Ray Barretto's debut album as a leader. For 40 years, conguero and bandleader Ray Barretto was one of the leading forces in Latin jazz. His hard, compelling playing style graced the recordings of saxophonists Gene Ammons, Lou Donaldson, and Sonny Stitt, pianist Red Garland, and guitarists Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell. He is credited for being the first U.S.A.-born percussionist to integrate the African-based conga drum into jazz. This fact has designated him as one of the early InchcrossoverInch artists in jazz, skilfully balancing his Latin leanings and his love for bebop throughout a long and successful career.

Adderley,Cannonball / Mendes,Sergio - & The Bossa Rio Sextet - Limited 180-Gram Vinyl with Bonus - VINYL LP

180-Gram Vinyl Limited Edition. Although Cannonball Adderley experimented with various styles and formats during his career, Cannonball's Bossa Nova [aka Cannonball Adderley and the Bossa Rio Sextet] continues to be an unusual work in his discography. This was not only true because of the Brazilian style to which the LP is devoted, but also because he isn't featured here in the company of his usual collaborators, nor of any other jazz musician. In fact, with the exception of the saxophonist, all the other players here are Brazilian. Sérgio Mendes' combo travelled to New York for the sessions. Drummer Dom Um Romao would eventually stay in the United States, where he became a member of Weather Report. THE COMPLETE LP + 2 BONUS TRACKS -180-GRAM VIRGIN VINYL - LIMITED EDITION
