Cannonball Adderley - Best of - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Best Of The Capitol Years is an odd compilation, largely because two of it's eight lengthy tracks come from sessions where the alto saxophonist was a sideman, not in the band.

This collection, selected by Zawinul and Bob Belden, represents the cream of Zawinul's time with Adderley and ranging the supremely soulful InchMercy, Mercy, MercyInch to pieces like InchNdo LimaInch and InchDr. Honours CausaInch which previewed the later developemts that Zawinul made with Weather Report. Five of these 10 performances make their first appearances on CD.

Long before bossa nova found it's way into the American ear, Lonnie Sattin was already there. Recorded in Brazil with it's master musicians and shaped by Sattin's unmatched versatility, this album captures a moment when worlds collide, revealing an artist whose vision, curiosity, and voice were always a few steps ahead of their time.
