I have a Vixia HFR-42 Digital Video Camera and this Battery has Long Life to easily record for several hours. The battery's Charge Indicator works well whether using an Offline Charger or the Camera for Charging and it Communicates well with the Camera and Offline Charger to indicate state of charge. Downside is the price is more than 4 times the equivalent generic battery. However, Canon sets the price, so Best Buy is at or below the Canon suggested retail pricing. I tried generic Kaepon batteries and they would not communicate. The Canon battery communicates well, even with the Kaepon Charger which for two batteries and the charger was less than the Canon Charger. I advise buying the Kaepon Charger and using only Canon batteries.

Great battery, but is expensive. But, to film any length of time, you need a good battery and one that the camera will recognize. We tried to buy a generic battery to go with it, but the camera did not recognize it so it kept saying the battery was dead even though it wasn't. The camera instantly recognized this battery and it worked great with the camera.

I have purchased two additional batteries for my cam recorder with the thought that it would require that many for a days of video recording events. That is over 3 hours, more than what I would ever need. The extra would be a back-up should a battery ever fail.

A second battery always makes certain you have a ready camera at all times. Charge seems to last longer than previous Canon camera. Used old Canon for many years so hope to get a long use out of this step-up from older camera and battery.

Charge best with the best. I would only use the Canon - BP-718 Lithium-Ion Battery as a backup for my Canon video camera. All Canon products Rock!

Spare batteries are a must. These batteries have a handy additional feature - a cover. This is most useful especially when storing in a camera case.

I wanted an extra battery for my video recorder in case the battery it came with ran out of juice. This is perfect.

This battery is very well worth the price. It's easy to install and charges quickly. I bought it as a back up battery, and it holds it's charge even in cold Alaskan weather. I'd say it's a very reliable product.

Although it was more expensive than aftermarket models I expect that the battery life will be greater.

Battery was instock, and was mostly charged. Best Buy price matched. However, I think it's robbery for the price of a camera battery. This battery is so small (same size as a 9v), but cost $60-$100. But the camera was about 3 years old or so, and the original battery went out.

I needed a small second battery to help get me through a full day of recording court games. Fast charge and small size still provides enough charge to keep my camera rolling. I was able to purchase this with an online discount price, but batteries are still expensive.

A trip for cheer competition at Disney definitely required a backup battery source for the new video camera. The sales person actually matched the vbest online price! Convenient since we didn't v have to wait for shipping and got the Best Price, too sweet!

It does what it's supposed to do, though I found out after buying it that it has less capacity than the battery that comes with the camera. Good for a spare, but a little disappointing for the price.

Needed a extra camera battery, salesperson was of little assistance but I was able to track down the battery and pay for it although salesperson was confused on the price but we worked it out.
