I am thoroughly enjoying the 1DX. My images are sharper. I have more images to process. The battery life is excellent. The lens I had with my older camera are compatible. I am very satisfied and excited about this camera.

This camera is a remarkable piece of technology. It's fast, extremely adept and incredibly versatile! You can't go wrong with this body paired with any of the high-end Canon glass.

I've been shooting professionally for over 16 years and without a doubt this is the best camera body I have ever had the pleasure to shoot with. Reliable, fast, and impeccable image quality.

The headline says it all -- this camera is great if you're a pro photographer, who knows how to use it correctly and, perhaps more importantly one who needs the many additional features it offers. Unless you're a sports or nature photographer this is probably NOT the camera for you. It is bulky, heavy and not as easy to capture good images as a Canon 5D Mark III. If you are a pro shooter with Canon lenses and you know what you're doing this is really a great camera. As a photojournalist I keep one in my office or car, in the event that something comes up and I need either the fast speed or manual controls of the 1D for a specific assignment, but for the most part carry and shoot with two 5Ds. The 5D is much lighter, smaller and easier to maneuver with; 90 percent of the time I can make just as good if not better images with the 5D than I can with the 1D. I would be unlikely to recommend to a friend, unless they (1) knew what they were doing and (2) needed the sophisticated features.

By far the best camera body I have owned. If you buy the best lenses you better have a great body to attach then to.

I have owned the 5d mkiii since release but the 1dx is in a league of its own. The files are cleaner. Adjustable parameters like min and max aperture, shutter, iso. It has way better metering and most importantly that extra ms response that helps get the shot. The 5d is great but as a combo this compliments all the areas that the 5d lacks. It is heavy and the buttons are a little much at times but this is an awesome camera. If comparing against the 5d then get all the lenses you want first unless you shoot sports or inclement climates.

This is in my opinion the best body on the market if you are a professional photographer. Lots of changes have been made from previous models, making it user friendly. The video capabilities are incredible. It's worth the investment if you are a working professional, or have the money spare for an expensive hobby toy!

The Canon 1DX lost power completely and didn’t work at all. The Canon Factory Service Center replaced the bad Printed Circuit Board (PCB: its part number is CG2-3143-010). The repair cost by the Center was $337. I paid for the shipping to the Center of $75. The Canon 1DX was purchased about two years ago from B&H, and its current shutter count is less than 15,000.
