Customers find value in the EOS R Mirrorless 4K Video Camera's exceptional image quality, ease of use, and lightweight design. Many appreciate its impressive low-light performance and autofocus capabilities, although some users express disappointment with the single memory card slot and the touch bar functionality. The camera's price point is also frequently praised. While some find limitations in its 4K video capabilities, the overall feedback highlights its strengths in photography.
I've been a Canon shooter for many years and have found their photography equipment to be of high quality, durable and reliable. Canon also has outstanding customer service and support. In addition to my recent purchases of two Canon EOS R bodies, I also have a 5D Mark IV, 7D Mark II and the holy trinity collection of Canon "L" lenses. In my opinion, the "R" has received a bad rap from supposedly professional reviewers, especially with Canon's recent firmware updates that have made significant improvements since the R's initial introduction. Pros: 1. The body feels so good in the hand, not too large and not to small. Just right! Lenses balance well on the body. 2. Image quality (stills) is outstanding and more than enough dynamic range to deal with highlights and shadows. 3. I'm probably biased, but I think Canon's color science is the best in the industry. 4. Fast and accurate auto focus especially with the recent 1.4 firmware update. Subject tracking and eye detection is excellent. 5. The EF/EF-S to R lens adapter allows you to use all of the EF/EF-S lenses with no loss in functionality. 6. The electronic viewfinder resolution is outstanding and the ability to see exactly what your image will look like before taking the shot is a game changer versus an optical viewfinder on a DSLR. 7. The articulating LCD screen is high resolution and allows you to get the shot at any difficult angle. 8. If you have the funds I also recommend the new Canon RF lenses. I also purchased the RF 24-105mm f/4L lens and it is outstanding and a great focal length for a walk-around lens. 9. The touch & drag function to move the focus point is much speedier than a joy stick and is easy to use. 10. Shooting in lowlight conditions is outstanding and very minimal noise in higher ISO ranges. Cons: 1. Some complain about only having a single card slot which I can understand if you're a paid photographer. However, if you need redundancy you can use wifi to easily send to your cell phone as you shoot. 2. Some have complained about the crop factor when using 4K video. I don't do video with my cameras so really not fair of me to comment. For the money, the Canon EOS R is a deal!!

I recently had the chance to try out this camera, and overall, I’m impressed with its performance. The image quality is excellent, with sharp details and vibrant colors even in low light conditions. The autofocus is fast and accurate, which makes it great for action shots or capturing quick moments.

I've been wanting to upgrade to the Canon R line since they announced it and finally have. The R is nothing short of spectacular. This rig is super light, boasts a 30.3 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, has an ISO range of 40,000 (!!), a dual pixel CMOS AF system, can shoot up to 4K 30P and 10-bit movie footage in ITU-R BT.2020 color when Canon Log setting is activated. Not to mention that I can still use most of my old canon stuff; filters, batteries, hotshoe, etc. The only thing I did need to purchase was the lens converter, RF to EF, which was only $100 and lets you use the entire EF line of canon lenses. To say less, this canon packs quite the punch. I would highly recommend for anyone in, or outside, of the canon family looking for that next upgrade.
