I love the having hood, when I need it. It takes a lot of space but is nearly weightless. Well worth the price and necessary for natute (outdoor) photography.

Bought this for the 600 mm lens. Easy on, easy off! Reduces the light flare-effect nicely! I am going to be purchasing hoods for some other lenses! It doesn’t add any bulk or awkwardness to the camera. Though I do use a monopod to steady the lens and give my wrist a break!

Canon charges a lot for their lenses, even the non-L versions, and don't include a plastic lens hood. This seems a bit excessive especially once you see their price for what should be a $10-15 max item.

Good addition to the 600mm lense. Helps out a lot when outside.
