If you only print or scan documents with dark, black text, this is a good printer. Anything with grey or light blue will be unreadable if not invisible. I have hundreds of PDF, PNG and other documents that use black and color fonts. This laser has no brightness or contract adjustments in its settings. Updated drivers for print, scan and fax do not add better settings. Canon's Community Forums list similar complaints but no answers that work. Two stars, one for Dumb and one for Disappointing.

Color printer is just what I need to print documents I need for both family and volunteer grade school teaching responsibilities. Also appreciate that it prints st a much faster rate than our previous color ink jet printer.
