After using this camcorder it is easily understood why the camcorder is becoming unnecessary for most people. It is bulky and to find a suitable protective case is a challenge. By Suitable I mean something that does not add 10 pounds or causes you to wear essentially a backpack. The video with the 1" sensor is outstanding but photographs are just ok. The camera has many great features. I am having second thoughts about taking this beast on an upcoming trip to Europe. Great for home or near home video but perhaps not something for travel where you have to carry this all day or worry about banging this on something because it is hanging from a shoulder or neck strap. There are good strap solutions but they also add restrictions and complications. I am traveling ...not bulking up with stuff hanging off me. Perhaps the phone camera, GO Pro or small (but large sensor) Sony camera is the gear of the modern traveler.

Great Camera. I use it for filming wedding and it works great in low light.
