The Canon XF 100 was the best choice I made for an amateur professional camcorder. With it's light weight and small stature, it is easy to handle and easy to use... if you know your way around a camera. One of the best features I like is the infrared. I really think I got exactly what I paid for and at a great price, that is for what a professional camcorder is worth.

This camera is great and quite easy to use. The quality was fantastic and built in audio was surprisingly good. Battery life with the included battery is also good. This just works well. My only con was that it doesn't do simultaneous recording to mp4 as it's big brother the XF200 does. This turned out to be a necessary requirement for me so I went for that one.

So far, I have had no issues with this camera. It took a little bit to get use to the one ring but everything else has been seamless. Light it has some issues with low low light but if you have control over your lighting and subject it can be flawless. Understand that it only use CF cards and make sure you check the camera because it only works with certain cards when you go past 64gb..

So this is a great 1080p camera. No qualms there. For the price though, you can get a 4k camera and crush the footage down to 1080p and get similar quality for piles less. This camera does boast some pro features such as the XLR inputs but overall I would pass for a similar priced 4k camera.

Great service, knowledge and assistance by Best Buy employee "Wes"! Canon put the LCD screen magnification button right next to the zoom so you can accidentally touch it and have no idea that what you are looking at on the highly magnified LCD is what the camera is actually recording. There is a tiny indicator on the screen that alerts you but not enough, secondly, getting the data into an editing program is not directly supported by Canon, haven't been able to burn a DVD yet....client is waiting. Apparently I have to purchase new editing software and maybe a new computer to adapt.....Otherwise easy to set up IF you read the manual. You MUST close the CF card doors, format the cards or nada.

This camera has EVERYTHING I ever asked for in video production. Most important..."ZOOM" Silent zoom, and slow mo + Fast zoom & NO SOUND OF THE ZOOMING in your video!!!! YEAH! ok, I am learning each option at a time. And I absolutely want to know more, and quickly! The only option missing is, INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO's ON THIS PARTICULAR CAMERA AND Examples of perfect settings knowledge. Love the Iris, and inferred. Using the inferred when zooming into a dark area is perfection. LOVE THE CAMERA! Help us with FREE LEARNING VIDEO's ...Thanx

We were looking for a portable camcorder that had the capabilities of XLR ins and multiple mics. This works, looks and sounds great.

As far as I can tell, this Canon XF 100 does roughly the same job as a $50,000 Sony HD camcorder we have in house. It's a fraction of the size and is just all around delicious. Thank you Best Buy !

This camera is good for beginners getting into the professional market. However, there are problems with it's sensitivity to low light and audio can also be problematic. However, it gets the job done and is a workhorse.
