You just can't keep a man like Carlton Jumel Smith down. This time around we get another soulful K.O. from his debut album in the form of InchLove Our Love AffairInch, a mid-tempo groover drawn from that sweet well of southern soul. One of the fortes of Carlton's Inch1634 Lexington Ave.Inch LP is that it flows along as an entity but also revels in the strengths of it's individual parts. This fourth single brings out another stylistic strain from Carlton and Cold Diamond & Mink's repertoire. After the tight intro and the vibraphone licks have set the scene there are twists and turns plus some classy action from Jukka Eskola on trumpet, did we mention the instrumental on the flip side? This single might be just the thing you needed to jump start the morning or blast in your Sunday evening radio show. Album Tracks 1. Love Our Love Affair 2. Love Our Love Affair (Instrumental)

The opening rimshot drums of InchLoveliness Of YouInch by Carlton Jumel Smith and Cold Diamond & Mink have sunday soul written all over them. This easy breezy groover closes Calton's 2022 singles trilogy with a style that echoes classic Hi productions for Al Green from the early 1970's. It's clear that on Timmion Records, Carlton has found a home far away from home.Carlton's soulful demeanor is hard not to like, and if there is any truth to what he's singing here, some even seem to fall in love with it. The recipe is not complicated here, and there is no reason to keep it a secret just a steady groove by a tight rhythm section, horns that lift the beat off the ground and a voice that wraps itself around your heart. And sometimes that's all you need. Album Tracks 1. The Loveliness of You 2. The Loveliness of You (Instrumental)
