Cedar Walton - Manhattan Afternoon - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This collection by Hugh Shrapnel brings together works written between 2005 and 2022 for wind and piano. The varied influences give rise to music that ranges from pensive and slow, to rhythmically taut and harmonically astringent, all showing Hugh's characteristically expressive style.

Quartet w. Dale Barlow on tenor saxophone, and Dav Williams on bass and Billy Higgins on drums, recorded April 21, 1985.

This album contains 13 tranquil meditations remixed by Youth and Alex Patterson of the Orb. These ambient re-workings of the band's back catalog demonstrate the pioneering role the band played in the evolution of ambient house and new age dance music.
