Charlie - Lines - VINYL LP

Readers of an InchCool Album of the DayInch should see a pattern especially lately. What they would notice is that there is a strong tendency to feature albums of what's commonly known now as the InchAmericanaInch genre. This is been my favorite music to listen to for a number of years now. But another genre that I've long enjoyed was the sound of the slick jazz rock bands often known as the InchL.A. Sound.Inch Some great music has been produced by that well-known group of musicians from Los Angeles. I'm sure you know what I'm referring to, Toto, later period Doobie Brothers, Les Dudek, Boz Scaggs, etc. Etc. Charlie fits somewhat into that group, even though they're not from Los Angeles, nor the United States, but there lick's sound as if they were. I always got a kick out of this because so much of this band is different from what it appears to be. They've got that slick Los Angeles type sound but they're not from Los Angeles. They've lead vocalist was named John Anderson, but not Jon Anderson. And their drummer's name was Steve Gadd, but he's not that Steve Gadd. Confused? It doesn't matter, what was great about this band has always been their sound. Oh yeah and we can't forget bandmember. Eugene Organ, he of course play guitar. Well, I guess I should say not just their sound, their album covers were pretty great too. Did you hear there was a new Charlie album? If there was, you had to at least walk to the 'C' section of your record store to check it out. We'll at least we guys did. What were the well-known songs on this album? There are actually quite a few of them, the first being the opening track InchShe Love's to be in Love.Inch Others that you probably knew were InchLife's So Cruel, Inch InchL.A. DreamerInch and InchOut of Control.Inch Well those got decent amount of airplay the one that might have received the most was a song that shows how long ago this albu

Charlie Watts - Anthology - VINYL LP

Charlie Watts InchAnthologyInch is an affectionate retrospective and a reflection of just how frequently Watts was able to exercise his jazz muscles between Rolling Stones commitments to create a bespoke discography of his own. Including 3 unreleased tracks. The names of Charlie's jazz heroes fell from his lips like a superfan turning the pages of a personal scrapbook. Charlie Parker, Gerry Mulligan, Chico Hamilton, Dave Green, Stan Tracey, Peter King, Courtney Pine, Gail Thompson, Brian Lemon, Gerard Presencer, the Red Rodney group and collaborator Jim Keltner. He knew every player, every session, every album, every outfit they wore on the cover, and he spoke about them with a deep and genuine reverence. He may have been a globally loved hero in the biggest band in the word, but he swatted away any compliment or comparison with his musical favourites. He counted himself their admirer, never their equal. The Anthology includes an extended essay by Paul Sexton which documents Charlie Watt's jazz career and the essential albums covered in the collection. Album Tracks 1. Stompin' at the Savoy (Live at Fulham Town Hall, London, 1986) 2. Flying Home (Live at Fulham Town Hall, London, 1986) 3. Practising, Practising, Just Great 4. Relaxing at Camarillo 1. Blackbird - White Chicks 2. Cool Blues (Live at Ronnie Scott's, Birmingham, 1991) 3. You Go to My Head 4. If I Should Lose You 5. My Ship 1. Long Ago (And Far Away) 2. Good Morning Heartache 3. Never Let Me Go 4. Roy Haynes - By Charlie Watts & Jim Keltner 5. Airto - By Charlie Watts & Jim Keltner 1. Roll 'Em Charlie (Live at Ronnie Scott's, London, 2001) 2. What's New (Live at Ronnie Scott's, London, 2001) 3. Take the InchAInch Train (Live at Ronnie Scott's, London, 2001)
