About this product

In the spring of 2019, a new rock band made up of four otherwise ordinary Okies emerged seemingly out of nowhere, swiftly turning heads with a grotesque new take on noise rock-one fueled by the existential anguish that has defined the 21st century. Taking it's name from the towering mounds of toxic waste that stand as monuments to capitalism's cruel hubris across it's home state, Oklahoma City's Chat Pile made an immediate impression. That momentum culminated in the of it's landmark 2022 debut album, God's Country, and it's expansive 2024 follow-up, Cool World. While the massive success of God's Country propelled the quartet from underground favorites to international sensation, Chat Pile's mission to push rock music to new zeniths of intensity was part of the plan from the very beginning. In fact, during the first few months of it's existence, the band began writing and recording some of the heaviest, most hellish, and harrowing material in it's entire catalog-laying the foundation for the themes and sonic traits that would later define their debut LP. The result of these early sessions was a pair of EPs This Dungeon Earth and Remove Your Skin Please, released in the summer and winter of 2019, respectively.Originally issued by Reptilian Records in 2020, The Flenser is proud to present a special reissue of Chat Pile's pivotal first two EPs, now compiled onto a single disc. This dual-EP compilation captures the earliest moments of the Oklahoma City quartet's discography-a snapshot of the band's pre-Flenser days and the eight tracks of noxious, nihilistic noise rock that helped propel them from local oddity to globe-spanning underground heavyweights. Album Tracks 1. Face 2. Rainbow Meat 3. Rat Boy 4. Crawlspace 5. Dallas Beltway 6. Mask 7. Davis 8. Garbage Man

Chat Pile - In The Earth Again - VINYL LP

The sprawling expanse of the American heartland is many things picturesque as it is desolate, familiar as it is alien. Very few settings manage to capture such contrasting characteristics in equal measure, so it's no wonder that the endless roads and forgotten towns of the deep countryside are practically synonymous with the general concept of a Inchpost-apocalypseInch. Although there's a bleak horror to the rural decay of InchFlyover Country,Inch there's a tragic beauty in it's stillness, something which OKC noise rockers Chat Pile and Texas-raised, Oklahoma-based fingerpicking guitarist and composer Hayden Pedigo masterfully capture on the collaborative LP- In the Earth Again. Despite their works occupying what seems like completely opposite ends of the genre and tonal spectrum, Hayden Pedigo and Chat Pile's Captain Ron, Luther Manhole, Raygun Busch, and Stin radiate a genuine synergy with one another that extends far beyond their music. Rather than alternating between moments where either the quartet's signature sludgy beatdown of noise rock and Hayden's Fahey-esque guitar soundscapes individually shine, In the Earth Again sees both Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo explore latent yet previously untapped aspects of their sounds. For Chat Pile, this meant an opportunity to explore moodier arrangements, indulge in sample and tape manipulation, and pen among the most sincere and personal lyrics in their entire discography. In Hayden's case, this collaboration enabled the visionary guitarist to translate the masterful craft of his typically tranquil, deep country soundscapes into something more sinister, tinged with a visceral, metallic grit that is no less evocative on a sensory level than their solo material. In the Earth Again presents a portrait of societal decay, characterized by the brutality of the active apocalypse and the eerie stillness that follows in it's wake.

Chat Pile / Pedigo,Hayden - In The Earth Again - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. 2025 . A collaboration forged in the heart of the American Midwest, In The Earth Again unites Oklahoma City's noise rock institution Chat Pile with Texas/Oklahoma's visionary guitarist and composer Hayden Pedigo. What began as a casual split idea spiraled into a thirty-six-minute album that threads their contrasting sensibilities into something entirely new. Pedigo's panoramic, primitive guitar, meets Chat Pile's industrial decay, creating a record that explores unknown emotional registers and atmospheric depth for both, In The Earth Again sounds like a post-apocalyptic transmission from rural nowhere. Instead of making concessions, the five artists work as a single unit, and each decision is made in support of the greater vision. The result is both intimate and expansive, a tribute to the modern wasteland. Album Tracks 1. Outside 2. Demon Time 3. Never Say Die Blunt to Smoke 4. Behold a Pale Horse 5. Magic of the World 6. Fission/Fusion 7. Matador 8. I've Got My Own 9. Radioactive Dreams 10. Inside 11. Tear for Lucas
